1. Brutal Strikes active increase Malphite's armor. So make sure to take 1 early point in it, and try using it before ground slam; as it will increase the damage done.

2. Seismic Shard does not only slow your enemy down. It also speeds you up. This is a great tool for both sticking to an enemy and getting away.

3. Malphite's ultimate, unstoppable force, is an extremely useful tool if used right. It will knock-up multiple targets and can be used to close gaps and allow your own team to catch up. It can also be used to jump walls and make large dashes away if fleeing. If initiating a fight, always active brutal strikes before ulting in, as it gives you the bonus armor.

The rune selection that can be seen above is designed to move Malphite quickly through his jungling stage and give him the tankiness he needs to gank initiate team fights. The movement speed quints are especially important for sticking to targets.

These masteries, in a 0/21/9 format gives Malphite exactly what he needs to be able to power through his jungle and still have the health left for early game ganks. As most people play Malphite as a tank, this capitalizes on this and gives him enough armor and health to even take a few tower hits early on.

The items seen in this build are used to capitalize on Malphites mechanics. As you can see, I enjoy stacking armor items like ninja tabi, sunfire cape, frozen heart and randuin's omen. Ground slam is an ability that does damage by how much armor you have. Thus by maxing your E first you are enabling yourself to build very tanky, while sill doing a decent amount of damage. Items such as shurelya's reverie and force of nature gives Malphite the extra movement speed that is beneficial for clinging to the enemies. Depending on how the enemy team is building, and which enemies are doing well, you may want to change the order in which you buy items.
