I had lots of Shaco support games last season with a CDR rune setup, that acctually allowed for enough boxes in bot lane to drive enemies mad... this season I think Shaco support requres at least 20% in early CDR items to be reliable enough. I also strongly recommend maxing boxes first, they are by far your biggest asset and those extra seconds fear make a huge difference.

What are your experiences with early CDR (Lucidity boots + Fiendish Codex eg) and box max first?

To be honest, I've never had a problem with the boxes cooldown. It's low enough to place a decent amount in lane already. The problem with spamming boxes everywhere in the lane is that it drains down your mana (especially early). This as well as using E as lane poke can deprive you of your entire mana pool quickly. CDR isn't necessary to rush.

hi,
i think you can move down brand morgana an thresh in the danger meter
why?
you can block thresh Q whit your W even if he jumps on it he will take the fear.
same on morgana/brand you can bloc her Q , so no snare or stun
even leona are not a danger at all just place your W close to that champ she jumps on the fear will make her lose time to stun someone (OK if the teammate are brain dead an he don't move he will eat the stun but that not your fault)

have a nice day an sorry for my bad English :/
but it is a nice guide

Thanks for the reply. Yes, you're right, Shaco can block Morgana's and Thresh's Q with his box but they're quite hard to lane against due to their ways of accommodating ganks as well as their all-in potential.

Hey skeletus,

I see you have spent a lot of your free time to create this awesome guide about Shaco support. Its so in-depth and so helpful. But is it better to change Mobility Boots with Boots of Swiftness? I don't know because when you are in fight you are too slow with Mobility Boots. Anyway Thanks a lot again.

That's a good question, and many people will encounter this problem.

Yeah, it's true that you will lose the movement speed bonus when you enter combat. But it shouldn't be a problem since you will be able to assassinate them in an instant, or if teammates are able to follow up quickly.

The reason why Mobi Boots are a better choice is because it lets you travel further whilst invisible. This means you can enter certain situations further than normal to avoid wards or vision.

If the loss of movement speed is really bothering you, then swiftness boots is definitely the next best choice.

Hellp skelestus,

Your guide is good, but I really wonder if playing Shaco as support in the current meta is legit. Right now, there are a lot of assasins and assasin's item as well. I doubt that the adc will manage to survive in teamfights against assasins without any support like heal or shield.
Otherwise, your guide is helpful.

It definitely isn't the conventional neither the most optimal way to play the role as support. I just wanted to offer a funner and more interesting approach to playing support. It can definitely work for players with certain strategies and you can find a lot of success. But like all strategies in LoL, it all depends on the player...
