when chasing, use Q to dash to enemy champion, and e to slow (or stun) them. Allows time for other teammates to come, and most likely will bait enemy team into coming back for the injured teammate. While running, use ult to scare them off (cool down isn't that high anyways), or to save multiple teammates, Q in and stun one of the enemy, having them focus on you, this way they get 1 kill, rather than 4-5. Also good for diving between turrets if a teammate is unable to finish off an opponent. Her passive is very useful for escaping in team fights, After escaping, the best option would probably to go back, and take care of the unsuspecting enemies (unless you are heavily out gunned) This way you will probably be able to take out 2-3 people.
Skill order: Q-->W-->E-->R-->Q-->E-->R For chasing.

As an off-tank, Irelia already has a high amount of base health, however, in this build, we focus more on the damage output of this champion. Due to this, we have Armor piercing runes to enhance the damage output, as well as Attack speed runes, which both increase the damage per second output, as well as the sustainability of the champ via lifesteal and the Hiten Style.
As an off-tank with an edge on damage, the masteries in defense are necessary to accommodate for the lower health and sustainability. The Juggernaut mastery accommodates for the lack of merc treads. And the Weapon's Expertise mastery give her a larger edge on damage. These masteries balance out her survivability and damage output.
Flash is necessary for you to be able to jump into a swarm of enemies, to distract them, and escape. Ignite allows you to easily kill enemies that are unsuspecting of your damage output.
ghost would be a viable choice for her to get more kills and escape, however, as she has increased movement from trinity force, as well as her passive, she should be able to easily escape and kill without it. Another Viable choice would be exhaust, which could be a good replacement for ignite, as you will be able to catch up and deal fatal damage to them much quicker, however, when facing champs with high health regen (Mundo) or high lifesteal (Warwick) ignite would be a better choice.

Bladesurge first allows you to have a medium-high range chase move, that also deals quite a bit of damage, which is very useful for turret diving. Hiten style as your second spell to max out, gives you the sustainability you need to function in solo lanes. As your Equilibrium Strike does not deal as much damage nor has as much range as Bladesurge, it's main function is to stun/slow, so, it would be the last to be maxed out.
When you initiate, go W > Q > E > R > Hit Hit Hit etc.
When you are in a team fight, save your R until you are lower so you can heal.
W > Q > E hit hit hit, Q > E > hit hit hit, > R (Rinse & Repeat)

By getting 2 Dorians blades, you will be able to have more survivability, which is very necessary for a lane soloer like Irelia. Bezerkers boots, gives you a small attack speed advantage over other builds, so you will deal more damage as well as farm better. Yommus Ghostblade gives a great edge with its cooldown reduction, armor piercing, as well as attack speed/movement speed increase. The Dorians blades are sold to acquire phage, which maintains your survivability and increases your leathiality. Trinity force is a MUST for this champion. Bloodthirster and Frozen Mallet greatly increase your sustainability and usefullness. The Infinity edge gives more attack damage then getting an atma's at this point, the critical strike bonus is also a must.
For this champ, save mana by just normal attacking the minions, without any spells, however, if an enemy champ is harrasing you... harrass him or her back! use your Q to dash to them and e to stun/slow. (make sure to activate hiten style). This will most likely scare them off, if not, fall back and repeat until they are low enough for you to ignite and kill.
