Introduction

So this is my first build on the site and I know this might not be the best build for Jarvan but at the moment it has served me very well. Most games I end with 2-4 kills, 1-3 deaths, and 15-20 assists. That being said I try my best as a tank to double if not triple my deaths in assists.

Masteries

Normally I would go 0-21-9 or 9-21-0 when I play a tank champ but I find the extra armor pen and attack speed from alacrity and ardor combed with Demacian Standard really work well together getting those early game kills/assists.

Items

Since I find I have mana problems a lot with Jarvan I start by making my way to Frozen Heart and Banshee's Vail not only are they a great source of mana they all give a nice about of armor magic resist and cooldown reduction finally finishing it off with Warmog's Armor. My order for items after those changes based on the type of team I am fighting if it is heavy AP I go Force of Nature before Thornmail or Thornmail first if AD heavy followed by Force of Nature.

Skill Sequence

I like to max Demacian Standard by level 9 because the attack speed and armor help tank early fights but it also allows for me and my lane partner to push towers that much faster. After that getting Golden Aegis max next so when those team fights break out and you ult 2-4 enemies and they all start attacking you you can take the hits for your team longer. To be fair Jarvan's ult worried me at first since you can flash out of it or blink out with any skill that moves your champion like alpha strike, Shunpo, and Twisted Advance just to name a few. That being said in the end it still forces enemies to use those skills to get away and allowing your team to follow up on those kills now that they burned them.

Team Work

It is best to make sure your team knows when you plan on using your ult or if you do not have much to tell them make sure you either use it to stop enemies from chasing and use your Demacian Standard and Dragon Strike to get away or to keep them near your allies. Also make sure to remove your ult if you have trapped your own allies I have seen a few Jarvans kill their own teammates that way. And my 2 favorite combos so far with Jarvan is with Katarina's ult and Karthus Lay Waste/Defile. Some other good combos are Lux, Twitch, and Garen.
