As far as the focusing thing goes, against a good team you'll ALWAYS be focused, as your damage scales the longer your in combat and everybody knows this. That being said, you've got to play like a good Master Yi if you don't want to be focused; when teamfights start, you need to be NOWHERE IN SIGHT! Wait for all the ults to start flying, and when their done come in and clean up. They'll be too busy dying to focus you.
tell me what you think of my items... and maybe help with the getting focused business. you seem to be a more experienced jax player.
It doesn't actually sound like you're doing anything wrong so far, Jax is a rolling snowball in every single fight. That said, I've noticed that SOMEONE is going to run the second they see Jax jump in (which is smart IMO), so for that penta kill you're looking for, you'd need an enemy team that stayed to fight longer than is wise AND where noone has Ghost up. This situation isn't likely to happen, so unless you want to run around with Amumu and Galio every game, a triple kill is the best you can look for in a usual game.
As for the lifesteal, I recommend that instead of the Bloodrazor, you get a Hextech Gunblade for the lifesteal and spellvamp (Jax's skills = spells). I have the bloodrazor as the sixth item, but you don't HAVE to get everything in the order I present, I just find it optimal for most circumstances. So grab that Gunblade and have fun soloing Baron!
You're correct, MrP didn't get nerfed, but IMO its got the same problem runewise on Jax that ArP does; it doesn't scale with Jax's skills or passive like AD does. On the other hand though, with 8.55 MrP from runes, it IS possible to reduce most champs MR into the positive magic damage range with this build, so its a really good choice. I'll have to update the runes section now!
Also, I thought about doing the dodge runes too, but dodge starts too really suffer from diminishing returns as you get more of it(MS does too, but not as much). For 3 quint spots, you end up getting only about half of the promised dodge chance later in game.
ArP got nerfed. MrP didn't, right? It might be a good investment in the glyphs.
Movement Speed is indeed debatable, but I still think dodge is better. You could also get AP per level, if you take the glyphs that is.
Thanks! Hope it works out to your liking.

While getting Guinsoo's first may help you get a kill eariler, Phage slows and gives Jax health, both things that Jax really really needs especially early on. Also, phage allows for whoever you're laning with to get more hits in, which makes it more likely the enemy won't get away.
