Well, I dont know if anyone really reads this part but ill write a simple intro and explanation of why, how and what.
To start of with this is the build I use, and it has proven to be very usefull as long as you are cautious in the start. Jax is a mid-late game character and very item dependent, if you extend yourself too much without some items to back you up, you will end up feeding.

Doran's Blade will give you a better chance at harrasing using Leap Strike (w). Creep as much as possible to get Ninja Tabi and Guinsoo's Rageblade, once you have both those items, laning and facing opponents will become alot easier.
The Hextech Gunblade giving you life drain and boosting your AP/AD. The Phantom Dancer isn't only for the atack speed but also for the movement speed, allowing you to chase down your opponents.
As a final touch Trinity Force will boost AS/AD/AP, movement and so on. Just as a finishing touch for more damage output and lifesteal.
His items are expensive so the more you manage to farm in the initial fase of the game the better off you will be.

Jax is OP and very strong able to go solo against 2 or more players, but he isnt invincible. Initiating fights with jax is a very risky move, only do so when you are sure you can win, otherwise hold back and wait for the tank.
Furthermore, if jax is very item dependent, so if you do not manage to buy the items soon you will have to hold back from battle's and get as much money as you can to be back in the game.
