Summary

This is my first build so please comment and tell me what i should add, thank you.

Jax while he can make a good initiator should not initiate, he is an assassin, and with his high damage out put will be focused. Late game he is nearly unstoppable, and with this build his high spell vamp will allow you to heal huge amounts of HP during battle.

Summoner Spells

Flash:
This can make for an easy escape or just enough distance for you to leap to get that last hit for the kill.

Exhaust:
This can destroy any melee character in a 1v1 fight, or in team fight to lower the dps of anyone. It can also slow enemies if you're in a chase.

Abbreviated Terms

AP - Ability power

AD- Attack Damage

AS- Attack Speed

Skill sequence and explanations

Leap strike:
I mainly get this up last because it is not your highest dps out put, I tend to get this up once to use to initiate a fight or to leap away, or just catch someone running away.

Empower:
This is the skill you will max out first, this gives you plenty of damage while costing little mana. I use this a lot to last hit minions early game.

Counter Strike:
This ability is quite useful, after a dodge Jax can stun all surrounding enemies within a certain radius. This is the second ability you will max out, it can cancel out an ultimate that take time to charge up, for example with Nunu, i've eliminated his final numerous times, saving my team because of its enormous damage.

Relentless Assault:
This you will level up at every available chance, it provides a passive on hit effect of extra magic damage with every third attack, and also increases your attack speed after every hit, but slowly dissipates after not attacking. The active increases your magic resist based on your dodge chance.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
High damage output
ultimate gives attack speed and on hit damage
extremely powerful late game

Cons:
stun requires a dodge
often prone to being focused

Runes

Magic Penetration: mainly because his attack are AP, this allows you to pierce through enemies better.

Dodge: this will help activate your stun more often and can turn the tides of a battle.

Ability power: This will add to your damage, resulting in a higher damage output for all your abilities because they all involve AP.

Item explanation

Ninja Tabi: a must for jax, it gives jax dodge which is vital in his play style.

Hextech Gunblade: This item is perfect for jax, it gives him AP, AD, Spell Vamp, Life steal, and the active is provides is AMAZING, it does 300 damage and slows by 50% for 3 seconds. Which is perfect for a chase, or to take out a high DPS enemy faster. A second one after WotA just maximizes your overall power.

Will of the Ancients: This is your main Spell vamp item, it allows you to heal immensely during a fight, I've taken on a 3v1 and at least take out 2 every time. This also gives your surrounding teammates AP and spell vamp.

Guinsoo's Rageblade: A lot of people would argue that jax should get this first for the AS and AP stacks, while providing AD and AP. I used to go this way but all the stats you get from the gunblade (AP, AD, Lifesteal, Spell vamp, and the active) in my opinion is better early game, and I wait until now to get it (mid to late game) to maximize the output of Jax's final once it is all powered up.

Rabadon's Deathcap: This item just does wonders for AP users, it gives a whopping 155 AP and its passive just adds to its amazingness by increases your AP by 30%! The purchase of this item will finalize your enemies demise.
