Intro

Hey guys! I'd like to introduce myself: My name is Mixed Priorities, and I go by Mixed Priorities in game (NA). I am an ADC/Marksman main but have been picking up mid laners lately. I am currently Gold 5 but I have a lot of experience playing the game. If you are looking at my guide, then I assume you are trying to better your Karma play! Karma has become one of my favorite mid laners because of her intensely versatile kit. She has insane burst, utility and sustain and is a real burden to many people.

Karma is a mage/support that excels in either bottom or middle lane. Her kit is very diverse and can fill many roles. I'm not really going to go in depth about the technicalities with runes and masteries, but if you have any questions, feel free to send me a message!

Let's talk about summoner spells. I usually take heal when I play Karma because of the baiting and sustain potential of Karma. If you don't feel comfortable with taking heal then teleport, ignite, and exhaust are viable options. Teleport gives Karma huge map presence and can help your other laners our immensely. Ignite is good if you want good kill potential in lane, but it mostly becomes negligible late game. Exhaust is very good for dueling and late game battles. One exhaust on the carry and they teamfight is won. With these points in mind, you can use them to decide what you bring to lane.

For starting items, Doran's Ring and Health Potions are the way to go. Nothing is really considered viable on Karma if you are going midlane besides the ring. The ring provides sustain for mana while the potions can help out with Health.

Early Game

As Karma, you have your ultimate at the start of the match. You want to abuse your laner as much as possible and try to deny them from farming. When the first wave comes, shoot an ulted q at the back 3 minions and push the wave. You always want to push the wave to deny any farm for your other laner. Keep pushing and punish them with a Q or two when they step out of line. Remember though, always keep the bushes warded for the enemy jungler and laner ganks.

Once you hit level 5 or so, you mantra-ed inner flame can clear the 3 caster minions with one hit so you can push your wave and back. You want to buy the Lost Chapter first because it gives sustain in lane and extra mana so you can spam your abilities. Pick up another Doran's ring if you have the money and return to lane. You can shove the lane and look for either a top or bottom lane gank. Karma's ganking is very strong because of her mobility and burst and you can help your lanes get ahead by ganking.

When you back, you should finish your morellonomicon and boots. Karma's mid-game is pretty strong because of her harass and siege potential. Try to group and take some key objectives to get map control. Once Karma gets her Luden's, she will have a huge power spike and it will be very satisfying to nuke those carries :D

Late Game

By now, you should have your Deathcap and Luden's completed and it is time to access the situation: if the enemy team has an assassin that could instantly kill you, grab a zhonya's hourglass. If they have a tank, build void staff. If neither/both apply, then grab a Rylai's Crystal Scepter. This item is very strong on Karma. The extra HP allows you to survive just a bit longer to dish out a ton of damage. The extra AP from the Needlessly Large Rod gives the extra bit of damage to harass the enemies and the slow can help with kiting. After Rylai's, void staff can be bought to finish out the build. At this point in the game, all Karma needs to do is harass and poke for her team. With the constant harass, you are slowly whittling down their HP bars so your team can do the rest. If you get engaged on, activate mantra and your shield for a team shield and speed boost to help them in the fight. Harass and push and slowly your team will make it into their base. With full build, Karma can 1 shot an AD Carry before he can even realize what's happening~ Play smart and their nexus is yours!
