I agree that triforce is a midgame item however I was planning on leaving it out completely and putting in an atmas or frozen mallet instead which would both work very well and i've tried them. You will get around 300 ad total with atmas or lots of health and slow with mallet. But I put tri force on since it gives you better overall stats, a slow chance which is always nice, and the sheen proc. However I'm not sure how else to build wukong except for an auto attacker unless you mean just nimbus strike > crushing blow > decoy rinse and repeat. But I don't seen how just that is viable due to his CDR and you have to build him AD for his abilities anyway. So do you mean just full AD with limited crit and attk speed? I can see that since it will make his ulti great but I guess that's the difference between tanky kong and pure DPS kong.
Yea, adding Frozen Mallet is a good idea to go with Atma's, but leaving out Tri Force out completely is definitely not what you wanna do. It's his core item, and what gives him all his burst. The improved Sheen proc (Sheen gives 100%, Tri Force gives 150%) is just too good to pass up, i would prefer to have that over a bit more AD.
The thing with Wukong is that he's designed kinda like an assassin clean-up champ, he dashes in, Nimbus-Crushing Blow for huge dmg, and dash out for quick kills. You can start autoattacking for a longer fight, but not much dmg will come from it. That's also why he loves CDR, so that he can do his Nimbus-Crushing Blow combo more often...pretty much every 4 seconds if you build right. Also, if u take into account Tri Force, Infinity Edge, Atma's, and Warmog's/Frozen Mallet, you have a little over 300 AD, which is more than enough. Even more depending on what your 6th item is. The trick with Wukong is finding a perfect balance of crazy burst DPS while being decently tanky, and Tri Force helps that.
As for Phantom Dancer and Berserker's Greaves, I just don't see Wukong as an auto-attacker, sorry. He doesn't do that role very well. As for crit, crit is great, but I think he has more than enough with Tri-Force, Infinity Edge, and Atma's Impaler (which usually should be bought since you already have Warmog's).
I like the passion though, Wukong ftw.
