SPIRIT OF THE ELDER

(DO NOT BUY)

Again, great item on Lee, but it's a different build, so if you want to build this, you're reading the wrong guide.

RAVENOUS HYDRA

(DO NOT BUY)

GREAT SITUATIONAL DAMAGE ITEM...if you're going for the Lizard build. It has **** synergy with Feral and gives a ton of flat AD, which clashes with the onhit build in this guide.

THE BRUTALIZER

(DO NOT BUY)

Once more, a fantastic small damage pickup if you're going the Lizard route but vastly out of place on an onhit mixed-damage build like this Feral Flare one.

SIGHTSTONE

(DO NOT BUILD)

You know the drill: great on Lizard Lee, redundant on Lantern Sin.

MERCURY'S TREADS

(BUILD OCCASIONALLY)

I get this in roughly 10-20% of my games. Yes, the Tenacity is nice. Yes, it gives some MR. No, I still don't buy it all that often.

Why?

1. Even 0% Tenacity doesn't mean doom and gloom for you. You're not Shyvana or Hecarim; getting chain-CCed and kited isn't a real problem for the utility-gapcloser king. If you're following my guide, you should have 15% from the 21st point in Defense.

2. You're SQUISHY AS HELL. Triforce and Flare are expensive, and if you invest in these booties you'll have very little defense (25 MR? Pff) until you finish a full tank item or two. Tabi is just incredibly gold-efficient, and I just don't see a reason to pass up on them unless I'm really, really scared of the enemy CC lineup- something like Ashe/Leona/Amumu/Morgana/Garen, for example. (A few seconds off Garen's Q silence can mean the difference between landing a key spell and walking around like an idiot until you die; I've been there before.)

THORNMAIL

(BUILD OCCASIONALLY)

A solid defense item. Ha, get it? Hard and metal and thorny- never mind.

Anyways, this isn't a bad option at all, especially against a fed ADC or a bunch of autoattacking champs (e.g. Jax top, Yi jungle, Trist ADC). Most of the time I'd go with Randuin's and Sunfire as my major armor pickups, though.

SPIRIT VISAGE

(BUILD OCCASIONALLY)

Again, VIABLE but not OPTIMAL in most cases. Normally a team won't have more than one major source of magic damage, and usually this gets crowded out by Banshee's. Of course, if its a double/triple AP comp, this is the item I turn to when I need MR and I already have Banshee's.

WARMOG'S ARMOR

(BUILD ONLY IN RARE SITUATIONS)

Well, it's a big block of health. I guess you could get this, but normally I don't see a reason to; unless the enemy team is packing a lot of true damage, a resist-leaning build simply synergizes better with Feral's flat heal and both the shield and lifesteal of your W. Unless this gets buffed anytime soon, you shouldn't be needing it too often.

LAST WHISPER

(BUILD ONLY IN RARE SITUATIONS)

IF the enemy team is stacking a ton of armor AND you have room for more offense after Flare and Tri (which is almost never), then you can consider this, but again, you do considerable mixed damage and you want the AS/onhit from Tri coupled with Flare's powerful atuo damage, so this usually doesn't make it into my inventory.
