Introduction
First of, Leona is extremely tanky and that is something you should be aware of, but going out in a solo lane isn't exactly your aim with this champion. Personally, I like to join a match with a friend or random that knows how to play a carry, your goal will be to cc and get as much aggro as possible to gear up your carry with minion kills and bloods.
As I mentioned in the intro Leona is quite tanky, which is obvious?
Your goals with Leona is to pump out as much cc as you can, get your stuns off and aid your teammates with whatever it takes!
For spells it's not really a big deal to choose which ones to use, but Leona has different ways to operate :)) For the stun, I use it quite rarely on minions, I mostly keep it ready for any incs just because Leona is so paper when it comes to mana/regen in early levels. Also, do not use Eclipse(in the early levels) unless you KNOW you are going to get a hit on your target champion! a few reasons:
1. It's going to get you oomed in no time!
2. Friendly players will deal +additional damage to target on hit
3. Making sure that you hit any minions/echamps with Eclipse which gives you a huge amount of resist (BIG DEAL)
And here is a short video I've found showing how extremely annoying this champion can be, in worst scenario:

First of, you want to have atleast two of your spells ready. Shield of Daybreak & Eclipse, but don't get me wrong! Zenith blade is a great engage-utility but also quite good at escapes aswell if it is timed right.
So this is how it goes; Eclipse > Zenith > Shield of Daybreak > Solar Flare(If needed instantly)
But again, don't get me wrong! It is very important to be able to judge the situation you are in, if you've engaged the wrong way and your teammates are not following you it's probably a good decision to pop your ulti for stun and get your Shurelya's item popped, TO GTFO! (I've done this a few times ;<)
Tho, your ulti does not have a extremely long cd so it's not a big deal if you use it now and then to farm some minions or just simply turn a fight to your win if necc.
