+ Tranzmaster - Thank you for your advice in your comment I will change assassin to secret stash as that was what I had before I changed it to assassin so I have nothing against the change; it is also very nice to know, the calculations you put to back your opinion, I hope you don't mind if I add that to the guide, of course i won't until you say I can though.

I do see what your getting at that pantheon is one of the fastest champions in the game however savagery only really helps with last hitting and Pantheon can already last hit relatively well; therefore I prefer wanderer as it allows for more successful escapes, as well as better roaming. And I do realize that youmuu's gives a significant move speed bonus as well as the cooldown being only 45 seconds but the move speed bonus is additive and allows you close the gap even quicker.

Oh yes through various in game tests I do realize that maxing q first is the best thing to do in lane, but in a melee lane i do still taken an extra point into e at level 5 so when they get too close it hits harder.

"b-b-but pantheon is soo good with cdr you will have 0 cdr after your first back". is probably what I would have said a couple weeks ago but I do realize that having cdr first back is not a must, most of the time when I back i only have enough for two long swords. Also I have tried going without building black cleaver first and it does work and their it is completely fine to not build it, I just love the item as it gives bonus move speed when hitting with physical damage and it also give better stick potential; so I will still build black cleaver first most of the time and yes flat armor pen is very effective in game so sometimes I will build youmuu's first, really it depends on the match up.

In my honest opinion, going for an early Lord Dominniks, isn't too great because at that point in the early portion of the game people aren't going to have massive amounts of health and armor so it is unnecessary, and is better for mid to late game. Black Cleaver is also more effective than Lord Dominniks because riot changed the last whisper passive to ignore only bonus armor but black cleaver still ignores total armor.

I prefer Secret Stash above Assassin.

At level 1 your spear does 1 extra damage. Lets say you allin at level 4 for 500 damage. that's 500 * 0,015 = 7,5 extra damage. Literally nothing.
Also Assassin is basically useless later in the game.

Compare that to Secret Stash.

Corrupting potion goes from 150 health and 50 mana over 12 seconds to 165 health and 55 mana over 13.2 seconds. That's in total: 45 hp and 15 mana + 3,6 seconds of DoT on your harass.
Added to that Elixir of Wrath has 18 seconds extra duration.

tl;dr Assassin is overrated and doesn't even come close to the benefits of secret stash. Also you can get rid of that weird 4 point merciless/1 point meditation mastery since you will have 15 extra mana from the pots.

Also i prefer Savagery over Wanderer. You have the highest movement speed of the game anyway. You don't really need it. You also have youmoos.

To be honest you should max q 100% of the time in lane. Q brings more poke so it will force a melee champion back even harder without them being able to hit you. Also you're likely to use 2 q's in a combo with q-w-(auto)-e-q, so you will do more damage in that aspect as well. Spamming q is just better for everything.

Also please don't get caulfields on your first back. Go serrated dirk. Flat armor pen is so OP right now and it's so nice with the precision mastery so you get high flat armor pen early on. I get the fact that you want to rush cleaver, but I prefer to go youmoous first. You really need that flat armor pen early on and will make your level 6 ganks even stronger in mid/bot.

Well.....In the current meta you really don't need full magic resist in glyphs. Literally every AD assassin that benefits from cdr will go cdr glyphs. I prefer to go 6 flat cdr 3 scaling cdr glyphs so you get 10 cdr. You will still have 32 mr in lane, and there are hardly any viable ap toplaners that do well vs pantheon. And you build can build hexdrinker early if you have problems if necessary. I like to go cdr boots as well and I don't go cleaver and will hit 40 cdr anyway so I can trade a cleaver for an earlier Lord Dominniks.
