Welcome to my first ever build.

This build includes ways to kill champions that would normally destroy lux if they got the chance and the way around magic resistance.

I've seen a lot of Lux's play Lux really badly, or not knowing her strengths and getting killed in 2 secs flat, by my view if you're in melee range with Lux, you're doing it wrong.
Updates go here when they happen:
-Spelling errors and such like changed
-Replaced Rylai's with Rod of Ages
-Updated Masteries for better fitting purposes

Pros:

Strong burst damage
Great support
Long range nuke for those runners
Great in fights even when at long range

Cons:

Weak when caught in melee range
Skill shot reliant
Much harder to play early game than late

The items I have chosen don't have to be fixed that way but this is the best combination I have found.Doran's Ring- I love this item, it's a great starter for some survivability for the 100hp (much needed for Lux's low hp base) and the mana regen and AP aswell
Sorcerer's Shoes-Great item, give you MR, nuff said can be replaced byfor the cool down on spells but I don't think this is as good as the Sorcerer's Shoes
Nice item for the AP bonus, and the CDR at 20 stacks, when this baby goes up to 10-12 stacks, you should be really careful on placement, as the enemies will go for you at any chance if you feel you dont want to use MSS then I would reccomend usingfor the AP and CDR
Lichbane-I rush this as soon as possible to give your illumination a big boost and that it give mana and AP as well as some magic resist and run speed, for the survivability-absolute essential for Lux
Rylai's crystal sceptre- there's a lot of debate about this one but for me it is one of the best items for a caster as it gives 80 AP and 500 hp two great boosts not to mention the slow on hit so you can get those people in range of a snare
Void staff-another item that has been questioned by quite a few people I come across but I think that this item is a great asset with 40 magic pen and 70 AP
An awesome item for any caster, this gives you a massive AP boost from ~400 to 630 and Lux's

Magic pen marks are great for Lux since all of her spells are magic damage, this is a no brainer
Manaregen runes- Now people like to put AP in here for whatever reason but manaregen is much better as Lux uses a lot of mana when casting her spells so you will need this early game
AP per level- some people like to go to flat AP but AP per level gives you a much bigger boost mid-late game which is where Lux shines in her gameplay.
Same reason and previous, a huge boost for late game.

Amazing spells:-Ghost probably the most useful spell in the game for the massive boost in run speed it helps Lux get her abilities lined up faster and a great tool to use with her shield, fire the shield forwards and ghost into it, for a shorter time to get your shield back.
-Clarity, mana regen isn't perect and can only do so much so this is a great tool for Lux to have as i often find myself out of mana, also it's a great help to the team

Good spells:useful for getting that ulti right on target instead of blind shooting but that i think is the only use for it
useful for protecting towers or getting quick ganks in but that's about it

OK spell:It's ok, good for running away but it's quite quite a long CD and it can be easily countered or lead to big mistakes when misclicked, Ghost is safer

Bad spells:I don't see the point in needing this spell, if your on the front line your doing it wrong so you shouldn't be taking much damage.
same reason as before, not much use to Lux and she has also got a snare to make quick escapse, the damage reduction is nice but it's not good for Lux
Useful but not without the mastery and Lux should have those masteries, plus it's more of an offtank/nondamage-support person spell

Why would you take this???Do i need to explain?
Yeah, good for escapes but you got a snare and shield and ghost for that.
Just no.

generally this is what Lux should do
Solo fight:
Q->E->auto attack; for good harrasing
Q->E->(if low)R, (if high) auto attack; rinse and repeat

Team fights:
Open up with ghost to get you positioning quicker->Q on dps->E trying to tag as many people as possible->W on tanks->R on the lowest people to finish them off, rinse and repeat

When laning (whether solo/mid or duo) always try to line up a snare on the enemy and prioritise the people like this low hp people>support>dps>tanks. Tanks should ALWAYS be your last target. If you manage a successful snare, throw in an E behind them but catch them just inside the range, this will either make them run towards you or run into the bomb, making them slowed and ready for an auto hit or detonation, depending on which you think best.

Characters like Dr. Mundo or Vladimir can be surprisingly durable with their life steals and speed/slows so always be careful when facing someone with life stealing abilities.

So don't overestimate your opponents, watch you and your teams mana, watch your enemies health and "Banish the shadows!"
