Rylai's really, really isn't worth it on Lux. You know you could just get ANOTHER Rod of Ages for a little cheaper, right? You'd get the same AP (when leveled), more health, and a huge mana boost. The item doesn't say anything about the bonuses being unique, other than the "heal when you level up".

And if stacking two RoAs seems silly, well, that's your choice. But RoA > Rylai for Lux doesn't change IMO even if you've already got RoA.

@IceCreamy, all good, thanks!

@Psiguard, I actually commented on her guide several months ago :P
I do occasionally take a point in the shield, but only when against DoT mids like Malzahar or when I'm sidelaning. Thanks for mentioning that though, since I should probably note that in my next update.

And yes, I build a very tanky Lux, which my team generally questions. I play her as a support damage-dealer, so I usually don't get attacked much. However, the tankiness is just incredible for 1v1s and ambushes. The main point is, you won't be the first one focused, and since you're Lux, you can kite like a boss, lol. You might prefer the damage Lux build to the original one, but I really like the tanky/normal ones, it's hilarious when people think they can 1v1 you and end up realizing too late that they're about to commit suicide :3

Your guide is a bit out of order and could use some nicer formatting.
Check out jhoijhoi's guide before she gets here (it's actually one of the conditions of her review). Even applying her template will do wonders for your guide's aesthetic appeal.

I disagree with the build, but I'm not going to downvote you or anything. I'm personally more of a fan of glass cannon Lux.
EDIT: To clarify, "glass cannon" doesn't mean no survivability. It means no health or resistance stacking items like Rod of Ages. I get Banshee's Veil and Zhonya's Hourglass when I play Lux.

And don't underestimate an early point in Prismatic Barrier. That (double) shield can often save your life or the lives of your allies, especially from lethal delayed spells like Time Bomb or DoTs like Ignite.

Nice title btw.

If I'm not too lazy tomorrow, I think I'll swap Rylai's with something else. I'll think about it a bit more tomorrow though, I need to sleep XD

Thanks for the reply, IceCreamy!

1. Yes, I do rely somewhat on blue, although if there is someone like Anivia on our team who needs it more it is generally a good idea to let them have it. The damage build does have 35% CDR since I felt I could fit it in a bit better there.

2. I personally hate AA staff. Rylai's makes E a lot more powerful when chasing/escaping, and of course makes your ult a bit more useful. You are right in saying it doesn't sync with most of her abilities though. I'm a bit undecided here, since Rylai's seems to work very well for me with the nice hp boost.

3. I do have a small introduction, although for some reason it's in the middle right now. I'll fix that up.

4. Chapter 13 used to have a different name but apparently it magically changed itself back to the default O.O Fixing that in a moment.

5. I'm not a fan of Mejai's. It is a great item if you maintain your stacks above 10, but it gives no stats early on, making it nearly impossible to start with, and makes you a main target late-game, which is the last thing you want. If you would like to know more, I can link you to someone else's reasoning (which is the same as mine) who explained it much better.

6. GP5 items are without a doubt useful, but I just never find the benefit to be that much. There's also nowhere to fit them in early, as earlygame, especially if you take middle, you want the best items you can get.

7. The shield CAN be useful earlygame, but 60-80 shielding with no other benefits is simply not that useful when you are soloing middle. This is simply a matter of preference for me.

8. I'm going to have to do a ctrl+F search of all the places I said stun. My bad, thanks! lol

Hi there :)

Let me start with saying that I think you have written your guide very well. Everything you have written, makes perfect sense to me. However, I feel there are some things missing.

- You have only 23 % CDR. Don't you feel you need more? Or do you rely on blue buff?
- I can understand that you want some survivability (RoA) but I think that Rylai's syncs really bad with Lux' abilities. I would suggest changing it into Archangel's Staff, but I see other people have suggested that to you as well.
- Why have you not written a small introduction? Currently, it feels like you start in the middle...
- The chapter you call Chapter 13 is actually chapter 12 :D
- What is your opinion on Mejai's?
- How do you feel about gp/5 items on Lux (Kage's Lucky Pick, Philo stone, Heart of Gold)?
- I need more explanation about why you do not pick your shield, or like I do level it as second. I find it really useful in early game also, I have saved allies numerous times (and even got kills, because the enemy overextended).
- You keep referring to a stun that Lux has, but it is a snare (at least I assume you mean her Light Binding).

For the rest, good job, I will surely upvote if you give satisfying answers to my questions :)

Thanks! I do get Rylai's mostly for the stats, as I really like having some extra hp earlier on. The first 20 minutes of the game I usually still have under 150 ap but I think it's worth it lol.

I'll start making changes right now based on your nitpicks (Btw, I love when people nitpick :p)

EDIT: All done, thanks for the suggestions, I ended up using them all lol.

I don't agree with Rylai's, since 2 of your 3 damaging spells already have CC, and plus, they're all AOE which means you'll be slowing for less. If you just get it for it's stats, that's fine, but I think getting for it's passive is not worth it.

I suggest putting your abilities section up higher, right now it's stranded at the bottom.

NITPICKS (I have to do this, sorry.)

-Improved Teleport is much better than Perseverance
-I would Remove the disclaimer and put it in your skill section
-Most of the Remember section can also be put into the skill section
-If you want everyone to ward, put a section on warding? just an idea
-Remove the jungling section (I get it's a joke, but it's just taking up space)

Otherwise, I like that you're actually not just building 5 archangels and a Rabadon's - Good to see casters played differently. I enjoy the fact that you divide items between the three Lux builds you suggest, and overall, it's pretty well written.
