Yeah I'll go ahead and change those masteries to 1-1-1, as for Needlessly Large Rod, it doesn't take long at all to get the gold for it. But I also said that there are times when you would indeed need the boots first, and to pick up Blasting Wand after it, just to start things going. Against a Mord is a good situation of when you'd probably do this everytime, since hes such a good pusher. Regardless Lux is fully capable of staying out of most champions' ranges, and while she would be doing less then full potential damage, she can harrass unimpeded.

Thanks for the comments, I'll go ahead and make changes now ^^

Elementz released his Lux guide and all of these guides have come up since then.

As for the good hands vs perseverance...it's only 4% of your total mp5, currently your only mp5 item is dorans ring and maybe archangels staff which means your item build really doesn't utilize it well, your only mp5 will be coming from your runes and natural mp5 from leveling.

Between runes and natural leveling this puts your mp5 to 25.8 at 18 which is equal to an additional 1.072 mp5. this is excluding dorans and assuming you don't waste 3k on an archangels without building tear sooner (wasting the +mana passive is what i mean).

Perseverance can be a fairly solid mastery if you're utilizing it in your items, however, I hope you can now see that it's wasted since 1 energy every 5 seconds is miniscule. Granted, 10% less time spent dead from good hands might seem underwhelming but come end game where one team fight can be the deciding factor of the game, you may need that 6 seconds. Comparatively, in this case good hands is better.

Now, the good thing is that perseverance gives you 2% (or half of the total benefit) with only one point into it. One point in it and 3 in good hands will be the best allocation for tier 1 mastery points for your build...though if you're using teleport then do 1 in teleport, 2 in goodhands and 1 in perseverance.

You also probably shouldn't make needlessly large rod before your boots of speed and another item. There is a huge gap in the early game between your first item and 1600g, dorans ring and clarity are not going to be the best items to help you get to 1600g to get that rod. Also, you have to consider that your gold you have saved up from you are getting zero benefit from, it serves you no purpose. Say you're laning against any champ...though specically I'll say you're in mid against mordekaiser. Let's also say that you SOMEHOW are 35 creepscore ahead of mordekaiser (which you won't be). Now each creep is about 23 gold. 35 x 23 = 805gold. So, you have a 35 creepscore lead on mordekaiser but he has backed and bought something. Even though you have a lead in cs, he's still technically ahead because he's spending his money...you're not. I feel like I haven't done the best job explaining this, but essentially you want to continually spend your money to make sure that you're making the most of it. This is why high elo players will typically buy multiple doran's items if they are forced to back and don't have enough for that BF sword yet. And i can tell you, if you're using only a dorans ring and clarity, you will be backing quite a bit before you get your needlessly large rod. Just something to consider.

As for the rest, I'll be honest, I haven't read much of the actual text to your guide (apart from the good hands vs perseverance part) so I won't be rating this. I hope that I have been able to give you some insight to your build though and how there is room for improvement.

...That's a good observation. There's suddenly been a bunch of Lux guides. And no real indicator why. The best way to handle this is the hipster approach. I WAS WRITING LUX GUIDES BEFORE IT WAS COOL. EVEN THOUGH MY GUIDE IS STILL RELATIVELY NEW. But I digress. The real thing that catches my eye here is how late you pick up your RoA. Usually the sweet spot for them is around the 20 minute mark but you rush Rabadons meaning you'd get it much later. Aside from that it seems slick. My only question is why you'd opt to take teleport and clarity together. Usually Lux needs the extra escape tactic if things go south. (OH GOD XIN WHAT WHERE DID YOU COME FROM) my guess is to support an early Needlessly Large Rod to lane for longer. Although I wouldn't sacrifice the utility of flash for a tad bit of more early game power, usually because I stack, but again I'm judging this guide's build guideline unfairly. I'll try this out and judge the guide on fair terms. The guide looks pretty solid if a bit short. Cheers.

P.S. 20 bucks on me looking stupid when all of the concerns I raise were just overlooked by me in the guide.

Forgot to add this, Blasting wand is just slightly more expensive than Kage's for double the AP and it builds into Rabadons. But why stop there? The Pain Train that is lux can go half the match without going back for items (its dumb if you intentionally do this but it has been done! lol). Ive gone out with Dorans ring and not come back until I could flat out buy Rabadons, its very easy by just pushing lanes and playing passive, wearing down your enemy until you can guarantee a gank!

This is true Florida (I live there btw :D) though its far too easy to stay in lane long enough, and to get multiple ganks (as well as creep farming) to afford a Needlessly Large Rod, or atleast a Blasting Wand. When you get these early, you are that much closer to Rabadons, and faster AP means more AP. I used to use kages and the like but they didn't build into anything and were a waste as I've come to see. Sure Kage's pays for itself, but it takes way too long to do so, I'd rather wait a bit longer, then get ap that destroys enemies ^^

Yeah I'll have to add more sections.
Clarity isnt neccessary persay, but it speeds things up tremendously, as mana regen isn't a big issue with a full set of clarity runes. But clarity is good for lane staying, you can constantly harrass and have no worry of mana. Often (and I plan to put this in a section) I use clarity setting ganks. Enemies see im low on mana and when they overextend or after i land that binding spell, I pop a clarity and back to full mana where i get to combo ***** them.

CV is good for lux, but more of a ranked play in my opinion, often you will know where they are, where they are going, and to use clarity to find them means they probably already got away from me or im just scouting baron or something where they will be full hp regardless. Its alright, but regular matches its unnecessary.

CDR doesnt do too much, with blue buff/masteries/blue elixer you max out CDR, no need for paid items where you sacrifice AP or more mana.

I'll be sure to add more, thanks for your input, these are just my reasonings why ^^

Why are there suddenly so many guides to Lux? Is she trendy a the moment? :P

Anyway, congratulations for your first. It seems to be quite solid. But there is still something to improve your guide.

Masteries:
I would prefer Good Hands over Perseverence. It's all about mathematics. You will get more use about that.

Summoner Spells:
I'm playing Lux quite often and I never needed Clarity. If you really need some mana regeneration rush your Tear. That's anyway recommended for Lux to farm your mana pool (as she does not have any spammable skills).
In addition to that you should really add CV. It's a great and dangerous spell on Lux as you can scout for targets for your stun or escaping enemies to kill with your ult.

Items:
You might want to give some alternatives for Lux. There are more than these items that are viable on Lux. And some really depend on the current match. Anyway I prefer to play my Lux with a mixture of AP and Support as it is boosting my CDR what's really needed on her. With 40% CDR you can cast your spells more often in a team fight, a AP Lux hardly 1-2 times. So it mostly ends up with more damage when going for CDR. For this reason I usually rush Tear or a Fiendish Codex. It's solving my mana problems (no Clarity needed) and giving me some early CDR to harass well.

Guide:
So far you just wrote about your build. A guide to Lux should also include how to play her. So you should actually add a section about some tips how to play, from early to late.
