Introduction
I'm fairly new to this game but I've been playing a lot with Cho'gath lately and I've been trying to figure out what's the best build I can get that works for my playstyle.
This build will only work if you dominate your lane, you need to be aggressive and take control of the enemies zone whilst being careful for ganks and potential enemy stun/kill combos. You also need to be very good at landing Rupture and Feral Scream on as much target as possible "ALL THE TIME" because this build has absolutely no CDR items (except Elixir of Brilliance if you have extra gold).
Any strong AD champion will work best as your partner here.
I don't know how to disable voting but I don't care all that much, if you don't like, don't comment and everyone will be happy :)
I hope you have fun with the build!
Typical Cho'gath item start:
Doran's Ring for the extra HP/AP that you will need to harass your enemy and take control of your lane and of their zone.
On the first buy, I try to get Boot of Speed AND Catalyst the Protector if I have enough gold. If you were forced to go b, simply buy the boots and health or mana crystal depending on what your current needs are.
Then finish building your Rod of Ages and either get your Sorcerer's Shoes or go directly to your Rabadon's Deathcap if you're confident on not getting chased down/ganked.
Here's the weird part that not a lot of people will like: Nashor's Tooth. I hear you screaming "NOOB! WHY!" and to that I say: After landing a succesful Rupture/Feral Scream combo on a single person or on a part of their team you would normally use Feast to get a kill. Then what? Cho'gath becomes a machine gun. Nashor's Tooth gives you a small deal of AP and a huge boost to your auto-attack speed. You'll find that team fights are more and more amusing as you send those spikes at an incredible rate. (@400AP, you can do 350 damage / second only by auto-attacking).
Finally, get your Banshee's Veil to avoid tricky 3+v1 situations and to get a nice headstart in teamfights.

I decided to go with Clarity because if you don't have any support, It's a must to avoid getting ganked, knowing the enemy's jungler position, have an early look at their items when the game starts, having a sight on Dragon/Baron if you don't have wards yet etc. etc.
Other valid Summoner Spells are:
Teleport (replace ghost by teleport in the masteries build also) to go help a teammate on a different lane or simply to go get a kill.
Ignite: Only good early game around level 6/7/8 where you can land a tower dive Feast/Ignite and fall back to avoid getting killed.
I'd say that's pretty much it.
