I bought Malzahar sometime back and never got the hang of his abilities or how they can better my team. I've seen other builds that rely on building toward an excessive amount of Ability Power or AP. This is indeed a great choice if, for instance, you can single out every enemy plus have your team help you stack. On the other hand, you know how to kill steal (ks) like no-ones business. However, in very many games if the other team conquers the map and you can't farm your gold for that oh so precious AP, well your out of lucky and you have probably been wasting your time trying to build that Mejai's Soulstealer that is now useless. This build will make you less of a target, give you some survivability, and, if all goes great, help your team get a victory with your great ego.

This is a Support/Ap build that will greatly help your team's big fights with Malzahar's area of effect (AoE) spells and help with other teammates escaping ganks or slowing down the enemy for reinforcements. Plus, you will be able to lane longer, in turn, giving you more cash in those greedy little hands.
