Hello, and welcome to my guide to one of my favourite Champions in the league, Maokai, the Twisted Treant. I consider Maokai, in my opinion, to be an amazing Burst Damage Off-Tank, but, he can be played in any way around a tank or a caster. That's why I have included 3 builds inside this guide: The 1st, which is my favourite build for him, based around being an off-tank, the 2nd, which is based around focusing on tanking, and the 3rd, which is more about maining as a Caster with a little beefiness.

These are pretty straight forward:

For my first build, I have AP Glyphs and Quints for a great amount of starting damage that really helps laning phase harassment, Magic Pen Marks in order to help penetrate that base Magic Resist, and CDR Seals to help pump out more saplings and more CC.

For my second build, I have Flat Health Quints to help be even more beefy early game, to help defend your lane partner, CDR Glyphs to pump out CC even faster, and MPEN Marks and AP Seals in order to deal that extra bit of damage without too much dedication.

Finally, for my third build, I have AP Quints, Glyphs and Seals, and MPen Marks, to deal massive burst damage early game.
