Thank you all for your opinion, but everything I have done within my guide has been done with a reason.

Whatever alternatives you believe is right, I still prefer my own way so please stop posting hints on the build and just try my guide out to see if it is good or bad.

When you tried it out and you find difficulitys with my build, I will try to help you. If I am not capable enough to do so, then thank you for your time and maybe some other build suits you more.

This guide IS viable, I tested it many times.

Again thank you for your opinions, I just do not want to react to everyone why I make certain choices.

I'll be honest, I have never seen a lane Maokoi work out before. They're simply just better options to choose over him. Im guessing that lane Maokai would take top lane?

I feel that it would be a poor choice as he cant dish out that great of a burst though he does bring a lot to the table for ganks, but even then it would mean he cant win without ganks and that would mean that he is just better off as a jungler.

I completely agree with @Customtm, Rod of Ages offers the same amount of AP as Rylai's Crystal Scepter, but with considerably more HP which works just as well with Saplings.

I believe the reason why he/she is suggesting you build a bit tanky is because Maokai forces to you play up-close and personal, within melee range of the enemy, so going tanky would be a smart choice to make, not to mention if you can drag out a fight within your Vengeful Maelstrom you can deal a butt load of damage.

Overall keep up the good work~

+1 because I play Tanky AP Maokai as well.

Two things though:

1. Rylai's Crystal Scepter is deffo not viable. Each of your spells is AOE except for your W that does snare longer than the slow lasts, lol. If not for the slow this item is extremely expensive. Try Rod of Ages or something similar, it works waaay better.

2. Might add Frozen Heart. Cooldown reduction and more mana? Hell yeah! Trees like both while it still has a supportive aura

I understand what you are saying, however if you buy plain boots before athene's this looks like a viable build.

You buy Merc's after a 3000 gold item? Well, good luck to everyone who reads this guide...
