Welcome to my first ever guide. Maokai favourite Jungler at the moment and I've played him successfully a lot in ranked. He is one of the strongest Jungler in my opinion.
In this guide I will discuss Maokai abilities, runes, masteries, summoner spells and more. This guide will teach you how to play Maokai as a Jungler.

To me a guide doesn't have to look fancy to be good, it needs to have important informations on playing the champion.

First we'll talk about his Pros / Cons

Pros :
Lots of CC
Clear jungle fast

Cons :
Can suffer early game without blue buff
Squishy early game

RECOMMENDED :
Use it to get away or get closer to enemy with Twisted Advance
Easy 10 gold with Summoner's Resolve, true damage on minions and a chance to steal Dragon or Baron.
OPTIONAL :

Can be replaced with Use it at the right time with Twisted Advance can get your team an easy kill.

Can be replaced with initiate with Twisted Advance and put can slow them down a lot and let your lane pick kill up.

Can be replaced with , but there is no point stealing the kill away from your AD/AP carry with it.

DO NOT BRING :

What do you need heal for? Your passive Sap Magic already heals you with your next basic attack and Ignite which most people bring can make your heal look like a empty summoner spell slot.

Step 1 : The Blue Golems
Chuck a Sapling near at the bush near mid as soon as you get there. Then another one at 1:20 on top of where the Blue Golems spawn.Tell your team to guard your jungle as best as they can as you do not want to loose your blue buff away.

(Why start with Sapling Toss? Sapling Toss can be be thrown at a long range and can be used as a 35 seconds ward which can tell you if there is going to be a invade or not.)

Step 2 : You decide
After finishing the Golems you can decide to put a ability point on Twisted Advance for level 2 gank or continue jungling till level 3 with arcane smash

(Why do we max arcane smash Arcane Smash? Arcane Smash can make your jungling easier and TONS OF DAMAGE when you gank)

Step 3 : Level 2/3 gank
If you ganked at level 2 you start by commnunicate with your lane saying who you are gonna gank. You can either Flash and use your Twisted Advance to snare and Sapling Toss on top of them and hopefully then can finish the target off.

If you ganked at level 3 it is easier to gank because of your arcane smash Arcane Smash. You start initiate with your Twisted Advance then knock them up with arcane smash Arcane Smash then throw a Sapling Toss on top of the target and the lane that you were ganking would probably have finished them off.

Last step : Extra information
After you got your first blue buff remember the give the rest to your mid as they can farm easier.
Always tell your team or yourself to ward Dragon and Baron so you know have a chance to steal it away of get a few kills for you team.

I will add more information on item selections and farming techniques and whole lot other after this week (because I don't know how to save a build ;) but hopefully people like it and of course I will improve it)
