How I mid as Sion in normal queue I max shield first to get as many last hits as possible and harass is a lot easier with the damage absorption from sheild. I do not get my ulty unless I need to heal and can't back or my tower will die. If you have lichbane late game and pop your ulty the lichbane damage will heal you and make you a lot stronger then they think.Ignite and flash are good summoners for Sion because it gets him first blood in 70% of his games and great escape.Sion can only do good if he gets fed early game and can two shot people mid game. I get Ap perlevel runes but if you want flat ap i think it is a little stronger early game and may be worth it.

Get two Dorans rings if you are doing bad early game, get soul stealer only if you know you will do well. It is normal queue so you should win every game and carry every game.

You are an initiation so Stun wait for team to go in and blow up sheild.

Items: I get boots of mobility so I can gank faster chase better and harass easier. Soulstealer for good ap per gold and death cap so I can two hit people mid game.Lichbane so I can heal for a lot off my ulty. Hour glass because you will be the focus if you are the AP carry, same with banshees
