I miss the PBE version of Pyke. When they set him for his full release they increased the cooldown on his Q and E, which were what made him a decent jungler. As he is now, he has extremely slow clears early. I main jungle and have played against two or three jungle pykes. Other than his ult, there isn't much he can offer for a fight. In a 1v1 he is screwed. I played a game with Ivern and shut him out. I hope they lower some of his cooldowns to allow him back into the jungle. As it is now if he gets behind the game is now a 4v5.

I've had a few games which swing that way, and a few that swing the opposite. I've managed to play from behind relatively well a couple of times and I haven't actually lost to either of the two iverns I played against with Pyke, but I had my Top/Mid support the buff I didn't' start at which slowed his early clear. I've also had a few games of success against Vi, I'm not sure if it's because of her base armor nerfs a few patches ago but I've managed to kill her in the river and then her own jungle when I get ahead. I don't think his clear is tooooo bad, but it's a necessity to get at least 1/2 of the early scuttlers. My normal route from blue is Blue > Gromp > Scuttler depending on the enemy, the extra damage on the scuttle from my stun pretty much secures it, and I can always pull it away if someone comes to contest. For red I take Red > Raptors (surprisingly easy if you use your smite) > Scuttler. From both of those routes I cut across mid, usually getting level 3 in the process thanks to lane farm (naughty I know) and then I can get the second scuttler relatively unscathed. With level 3 you can really start to bully lanes, they won't expect such fast aggression so early and most immobile mid/top/supports/adcs won't have any chance to escape if you hold your hook or if they flash after you've hooked them, you just have too much shut down. The only problem with that is counter ganks early, if you're ahead and post 6, it's usually a double kill though. Overall, I haven't really had problems clearing, it's no different to Rammus' garbage, slow early clearing before bami's.

Fair enough. It just saddens me since he is a shadow of what he was chalked up to be.
