Well, when I first wrote this guide,
One thing that I would recommend if you do intend on using this guide while throwing Athene's into the mix, is completely cutting out the Rod of Ages. I mean you don't have to, but Rod of Ages true power lies in the mid game. So sacrificing that early Catalyst for a Kage's and Chalice will pretty much be a must if you want to carry over into the mid and late game with decent damage. Just go for a Health sub-item on an AP casters Item like
Sorry about the late reply, hope this helped.
What are your thoughts on Athene's Unholy Grail?
It's not that awareness is essential or anything it's just that PRESERVANCE and the extra mana are completely useless giving you nothing. lvl 6 2-3 creeps earlier is not that important but a slight lvl advantage (being 1 lvl higher than your opponent most of the time if he doesnt take it) will still help you a lot more than those 20-40 extra TOTAL MANA. and that less than 1per 5 mana and health regen late game which doesn't even give you ANYTHING early game since it gets rounded down and late you dont need that extra 10 life per minute... still i cant change your mind but i can change my vote on this guide...
Well since I choose not to go Tear of the Goddess, I'll take any free Mp/5 I can get my hands on, even just 1 addtional Mp/5, that doesn't even start until mid game. Meditation gives 3 Mp/5 from the get go, think of Perseverence as giving 1 Mp/5 starting mid game. If you don't think that 1 additional Mp/5 matters, then thats weird people ("pros" included) think Greed is any good, since it only give 1 additional Gp/10. Regardless, if you want to toss some points in Awareness go ahead, I think you're wasting masteries, but I cant change your mind.
And exactly what math gave you 20-40 extra total mana from 5% of 1150? You actually get 60 extra Total Mana. Which is an additional Q / E. That additional action can make quite the difference. Especially in laning phase when you only get the 20-40 extra mana from Expanded Mind that you speak of.
Funny how people will change their vote over Masteries even when they don't know what they do.
@Androdriverz: I explain it briefly in the guide and I talk to Typhon88 about it earlier in the comments, Awareness is a personal preference. I am the first person to level 18 out of everyone in my game 9 times out of 10. I don't need assistance leveling and I'm fine with a Leblanc, Brand, Annie, or Veigar getting to level 6, 2-3 creep kills before me. Bottom line is, even if both of you are level 6 at the same time, your ultimate does not save you from theirs (especially after they flash). If this were a Kayle or Zilean Build, I would recommend it fully. For Orianna though, I recommend staying in the backs of creep waves, letting them over-extend and kindly ask your jungler if he would like some free gold

The Neutral Buff duration mastery is definitely an ok 2 points to use since it doesn't become a waste after level 18. I explain this in the Masteries Chapter of the guide as well. However, I might take the Blue buff only 1 or 2 times a game, so its less of a priority for me. So if you want it, go ahead and take it. I'm sorry if my guide appears nooblike to you, I had a feeling people wouldn't like it at first because it was not the "norm." That is the exact reason why I refrained a day to post the guide until I had screenshots of my results to say otherwise.
@Typhon88: Awesome! Can't wait to hear how it goes for you. And definitely anytime you can get a blue buff, even with this build, take it. :]
Thanks for the tip, i will try out this build one of these days and if i do good i will share the result with you. :)
Cheers!
