Introduction

I've been maining Orianna for awhile now and I am going to share my personal build with you guys. This is just how I build Orianna, if you do not agree with me and you wish to build Orianna differently you are free to do so. I apologize if my guide isn't the greatest, as it is my first one.

A little about Orianna

Orianna is a strong ApCarry mid with high cc. Shes amazingly good in team fights since she got herand her . She can easily save teammates that are about to die with her Command:Protect(E) and deal a massive amount of damage to enemies with her Command:Shockwave(R) combined with Command:Dissonance(W).

Pros / Cons

Pros:

Fast Farming.
High Survivability due to her Command:PROTECT(E).
Hard to gank since she can use her ball for vision and can easily get away with an E-W combo.
Strong both early and late game.
Can play all lanes.
High CC and Aoe damage.
High Poke with low CC.

Cons:

Ball placement; You need to always keep an eye on where your ball is.
Extremely squishy; You need to position yourself well, not to get focused.
Can have a hard time against gap-closers.

Farming

It's easy to farm as Orianna as you can quickly take out the minions with your spells if needed. I would suggest not using your abilities to farm early game unless your laner is out of lane since it would make you lose a lot of mana and it would make you push your lane which would make you more vulnerable to ganks. To push your lane simply Q W the minions and then Q them once more if they aren't dead yet. Late game you can just Q behind the minions and E back on yourself and the minions should be dead.

Skill Sequence

As Orianna you should always max COMMAND:ATTACK(Q) first since it has the lowest cooldown and cost the least mana. After Maxing your Q move on to maxing your COMMAND:DISSONANCE(W) since it deals A LOT of damage. A lot of Orianna players starts with Q-W-E or Q-E-W, I start Q-E-Q-W since if you were to poke your enemy with your W early game it would cost a lot of mana and you would end up being oom pretty quickly. Besides Q has a lower cooldown and cost least mana as mentioned before and that's why I wait until level 4 to level W up. If the enemy team has a strong early game jungler it wouldn't be a bad thing to skillup W at level 3, but as long as you got map control you will be fine. You could also put more points into COMMAND:PROTECT(E) if you're laning against a strong lane opponent and you want to play passivly and focus on farming, instead of going overly aggressive, or if you just need it to be able to survive ganks or lose less health when the enemy laner is snowballing you.

Item Builds and Masteries.

I build Orianna squishy since according to me she's suppose to stay in the back assisting the team, poking down enemies and finish off kills in team fights without getting focused or getting poked to badly. If you're able to do that correctly you shouldn't be killed too easily in team fights so you shouldn't need too much sustain. And thats also why I go 21/0/9 and not 21/9/0 in masteries.

How to deal with hard laning opponents.

You can deal with hard laning opponents by simply farming under your turret, or trying to last hit with your Q since it has a long range. To poke them; try to stay as far away from them as possible and then go in and q them with max range,w them and try to move away as fast as possible for them not being able to poke you back, and if they do use your e so you don't take as much damage which might lead you to win the ''poke fights.'' You could also Q-W the minons fast to last hit them, and then kill wraiths/Wolves so you can get farmed up without having to fight your lane opponent too often. (If you're behind; it wont be wrong for you to try to roam around and get kills at other lanes)
