You might want to get Catalyst the Protector earlier than blasting wand for Rod of Ages, I've seem a Jax get Rod of Ages that way and he totally pwnz his lane enemy easily seeing he heals back too fast to kill.
Perseverance is much, much worse than Good hands. You need at least 25hp/5sec to get 1hp/5sec (Healing via spellvamp and lifesteal doesn't count) Good hands maxed knocks off 7 seconds of your death timer, which is better.
