Threats & Synergies
Zed is able to escape Veigar stuns, dodge ults, and dodge other abilities just by using his W. This champ will prevent you from farming and poking.
Fizz's E can hop pretty much dodge all of Veigar's abilities. Fizz can engage in fights and do more damage to you before you can even get a Q off.
Katarina can hop over Veigar's stun and difficult to land abilities. Her damage can also make it hard to farm and stack.
Kindred's ult makes it hard for Veigar to do the finishing blow and get stacks from it. That and their jump ability, Kindred is a difficult champ to handle, but Veigar outscales Kindred, so it's not impossible.
LeBlanc's dash can make it difficult to land abilities, but it's not entirely impossible to play against if you are passive.
Xerath can poke from a distance with his W and make it difficult to stack.
Lux's E has a longer range than Veigar's abilities. If Lux pulls off her combo on Veigar, it could do a lot of damage, but Veigar can also return that damage if Lux comes into range.
The only threat from Ahri is when she gets her ult and can dash out of Veigar's abilities. However, her abilities aren't long enough to harass Veigar, so farming and stacking should be relatively easy.
Azir's soldiers can poke from a safe distance, but it won't prevent you from farming and stacking. Also, Veigar's W range is wide enough that you can get Azir if he is just poking with minions.
Yasuo's dash makes it hard to land skillshots and his windwall can block them. However, he is squishy and since windwall has a high cooldown, baiting out a Yasuo windwall is best to just poke with autos and stack on enemy minions.
Karthus' Q is the same range as Veigar's W and E, but since he's squishy, it is easy to harass Karthus in lane and easy to farm against.
Both work well together because they can each set up for each other to combo.
Amumu's stuns can let Veigar set up his own stun wall or use a W to do major damage. Veigar can also set up for Amumu to ult the enemy if the enemy is in Veigar's E
Pantheon's stun allows Veigar to set up his combo and can harass the enemy laner or even enemy team.
Warwick's fear and ult allows Veigar to poke and stack against the enemy. Since Warwick's ultimate keeps them in place long enough, you can do more damage against the enemy to build up your stack.
Nunu's knock-up and ultimate allow Veig to combo with a W and E on the enemy if Nunu lands.
Gragas' slow and knock-up make it easy for Veigar to poke, but Gragas' ult makes it hard to land abilities since the enemy get knocked away.
Nocturne's fear can slow enemies enough for Veigar to place an E on them, but if Veigar isn't close enough, there's not much else to do.
Elise can snare the enemy, but it's a brief snare, so Veigar has to be real close or the enemy will escape.
Aside from ganks, Kindred can't really combo well with Veigar.
No synergy. Yi just ganks and there's not much he could do that Veigar can work with.
Champion Build Guide
Passive- Phenomenal Evil Power: Veigar gains +1 AP for every ability he lands on an enemy champion. Assisting or killing an enemy champion grants a bonus +5 AP.
Q- Baleful Strike: Veigar shoots out a projectile in a straight path, damaging the first two enemies hit. If Baleful Strike kills a minion, Veigar gains +1 AP.
W- Dark Matter: Veigar drops a projectile down, damaging enemies within the projectiles radius.
E- Event Horizon: Veigar sets up a wall around a certain area. If enemies touch the edge of the area, they are temporarily stunned.
R- Primordial Burst: Veigar sends a projectile that deals magic damage towards enemy champion. The damage increases the more health the enemy is missing.
All of Veigar's abilities can help with his stacking passive. If done properly, Veigar can become a threat early in the game.
Q: Does Veigar's passive work on jungle monsters?
A: Yes, just as long as you finish them off with a Q.
Q: What if you kill an enemy with a non-ability?
A: You still get the +5 AP from his passive, which is why I like to try and finish the enemy with an ability to get +6 AP. A small difference, but it can make a difference as the game progresses.
Q: How should Veigar be played?
A: Veigar should be played as passive until you at least get a Luden's Echo or a hundred in bonus AP. Playing aggressive early game will make Veigar miss on farm and a lot of bonus AP.
