A good anivia can be a nightmare to lane against as zed. She can push the lane instantly, harass you, and she has her passive which nullifies your 100-0 burst. Build hexdrinker and lane carefully!

Introduction
Hello fellow Zed players, my name is Oric Shadowsteed (at least in League). As far as Zed qualifications go; I have been a Zed main since season 4, and just last season I was able to climb the ladder to Gold 1 (Season 6). I love playing zed because his skill cap never ends. You could play him for a month, a year, or be pro, and you could still improve your zed game. In this guide I hope to show you how to tap into the secrets of the shadow!
There is not a lot to say on the topic of summoner spells. About 95% of your games should be flash and ignite. Only in rare cases should you get anything else. Cleanse can be used to nullify the effect of really long stuns from champions like Annie or Morgana.
Flash should always be on you 100% of the time. The ability to juke with your shadows and then flash can be very powerful with Zed's kit.

These runes are the ones I have been using for pretty much forever. Before they made lethality a thing, I used armor pen reds. If you are playing blind pick then the standard runes in the image further above are pretty decent. However, in ranked games you should be using runes specific to your match-up. You should have 2 different rune pages, one for AD match-ups, and one for AP match-ups.
For vs AD Runes trade the MR Glyphs for either CDR or MR per level. I prefer CDR if I'm not building a 40% CDR build. CDR can really help zed out because of the long cooldown on his ultimate, which makes CDR Glyphs worth it.
For vs AP Runes you can trade in the armor seals for either Health seals, or health per level seals. Zed is a very squishy assassin so he can benefit from a little extra HP.

Masteries are a very powerful part of the game and can change how easy or hard your lane is depending on what masteries you have chosen. On Zed, ThunderLord's Decree is very potent in lane because his W+E+Q combo will trigger it very quickly, adding a large amount of burst damage to the attack. There is not a lot I would suggest changing in the masteries, but it can be helpful (though not necessary)to pick Feast instead of Fresh Blood if you feel like you need a little extra sustain in lane. Besides that, everything else is what I always use in all of my Zed games. I will go ahead and say that Natural Talent sucks as a mastery which is why I use Vampirism instead. The 10 AD Natural Talent gives you is just too insignificant to effect anything especially when it scales with level.
