HI, So I recently discovered that Jax is by far one of the best pushers in the game. Of course that is my personal opinion and some may argue but hey thats ok. This build will demonstrate the tactics used to push effectively. Using this build may not result in positive score but will assure you tower kills. People tend to forget that League of Legends is a tower based game not a kill count game. So pushing counts!

Pro- Great at quickly pushing lanes and killing turrets

Con- may not put you ahead in kills anytime soon but will still leave you ready and able to do more than enough damage

My runes are set up to give jax bonus damage at the beginning and increase steadily as he levels. This is a great help in giving that extra edge and keeping it throughout the game. Along with the extra attack damage the dodge chance added plays into his counter strike making it more effective.

Some may think flat damage is better and by all means you can substitute snowball for flat damage runes. I just think that snowball helps keep damage output higher.

As for my masteries, i think that it is basic jax masteries with the points in the essential spots in offense and the 9 points in defense to give the extra dodge chance and the speed up when you do dodge. The speed up helps you catch or run away from enemies. If you chase through a mob or are being hit it may have the chance to speed you up to reach your goal faster.

Items! Items are the most important factor to any Jax! His passive clearly shouts that! We first start off building Ninja Tabi. This will give you the dodge chance you need for counter strike to be effective. Next we start to build Tiamate. Yes, Tiamate is essential and seems kinda out of place right? Well with that small aoe radius and your fast attack speed your going to be cutting through minion mobs WAY FASTER than you normally would without it. Thus pushing lanes is easier and faster. NEXT THE MOST IMPORTANT ITEM! Guinsoo's Rageblade. Helps cut the time spent killing the tower in half. Next I add in a vamperic scepter to help along with health regen. By this point everyone is starting to do some good damage so being able to recap some of it is important. Next I focus in on Sword of the Divine. Every 4th attack wether to champions or towers/inhibs does extra damage. (Combined with your ultimates passive where every third attack does extra magic damage) I then add in Madreds Blood Razors to devastate any tanks in my ways and Blood Thirster to just get that extra life steal and attack damage if the game isnt ending soon enough.

Way to go about using his sklls!

Empower -> Leap strike -> Counter strike (if ready)

Use your ultimates active if there is a mage around or any sort of incoming magic damage (i.e. Karthus ult, Annie Spike, ect)

Empower DOES NOT affect towers so dont waste manna on it.

Leap Strike can be used to escape from enemies since you can use it on your allies as well.


When pushing towers, focus on towers and dont go for champs underneath them even if they are attacking you. If you seem too squishy in your judgement to finish a tower off while it is distracted with a minion mob, DONT TRY. Most likely you are and that would be feeding my dear sir and or madam if an enemy caught and killed you in the tower.

Teleport - Used to teleport to mobs at towers to quickly finish off low health towers

Clarity - Just to refuel when needed

So, To push you need MAP AWARENESS. Yes, that impossible skill for some i know. Here a few hints on knowing when to push towers. If you can note everyone's position(i.e. knowing the enemy team is all bottom lane) then go to a opposite location (i.e. Top enemy outer tower that may have minions at it pushing) to go help do some damage. Keep watching your mini map the entire time you are attacking. If even one vanishes always expect that enemy to come to you. RUN... dont just stand there and think "well, maybe just a few second longer..." Not just one will be going for you soon all will. Bam your dead! 3-5 man gank. If you insta run then your out of there on time. And wait for another opening and do the same thing again. Eventually with his attack speed/damage output, tower will not be lasting long.
