As a top laner, it depends. If I'm defending a turret, I'll just take the poke, stop his cap and stall for my team to come (same thing as before). If I got Liandry's after odyn's+firecape, I can burn everything to get him down to around half and go back under turret. That way when my team comes, they can finish the job. If I'm not defending a turret, I would just run away unless I have teammates nearby
I've never tried to powerball feint, but I'll definitely give that a shot since it sounds like the best of both worlds. Thanks again!
Speed... you can just use ghost for engaging and help getting out, right? I don't see why I'd sacrifice tankiness for some of the useless points of the utlity tree. Plus, when you get slowed and kited, the slow will almost always beat your speed and you'll still get kited.
I always powerball if its up, but I tend to just go close and feint, and when they try to poke, ill just use the speed to dodge it. If they insist on capping, and its 1v2, Ill fight it, lose some HP, and go back under turret to reset. If I have enough HP to do that again, Ill do it, but if not Ill just back and give them the turret rather than dieing. By that time I should've stalled enough for my team to come, but if not whatever.
Anyway! I've got a couple of questions about the choices of quintessences / masteries available to Rammus. Whilst I've tried (and vastly enjoyed) the better cooldowns available to him, I'd like to know your opinion on having speed runes and masteries instead. Prior to this, I was packing 3 MS quints and 4/5/21 masteries for maximum cooldowns and speed...aaand whilst I'm kind of seeing why going heavy utility is bad for a tank fighter now (As I am a trash league player and am only seeing this now), I'm a bit curious as to why fleet of foot wasn't taken in place of some of the other masteries outside the defensive tree. Is it not as impactful on games a whole, maybe? Less necessary considering the speed?
Also, when defending on-point, would you recommend trying to taunt an enemy when they're attempting to cap (and risk being poked / evaded in return), or just powerballing them in general since that tends to succeed more?
