Introduction

In this build you will learn how to use renekton as a carry dps in Twisted Treeline. This build is not recommended for 5v5 because you can be easily focused down.

With that being said the 4 item build that are shown can be used for both 5v5 and 3v3 with the recent changed i made. The build that i use most frequently is the fourth one since it completly changed my metagame with the add of Maw of Malmortius.

The old build in the item section is still viable but I dont use it as much as before.

The 3v3 solo Early game

This build is for basic 3v3 solo. The early attack speed and armor penetration give you the ability to build up your fury very fast and farm quickly with cull the meek. Try to get in range of the enemy every time your cull the meek is ready to hit him(only if he is melee) it will benefit the ammout it heals.

I reccomend lvl 2 cull the meek at lvl 3 because it give you a huge advantage if you have to close combat with a hero like tryndamere and it also enhace the healing you receive from it and also make it easier to farm with it.

Play very cautious early in the game. Try to avoid getting ganked and farm as fast as possible. When you will reach lvl 5 try getting the first super monster spot in the top forrest to get a great gold advantage and a buff. During that time make sure no one sees you on the other team and make sure your lane is push to be able to secure your turret. When you will get your wriggle's lantern try to solo the dragon if no enemy is close or assemble your team to do it.

The 3v3 Mid and late game

At mid game your job will be to farm the forrest up and buff control when things are calm on both sides. You will have to do the dragon everytime it comes up to give your team a huge gold advantage over the enemy.

In late game you will have most of your build completed and a great armor pen advantage over the others players. Use this devestating damage to decimate the most dangerous enemy in team fights by executing your combo really quick on him.

Abilities

Passive: Reign of Anger - Renekton gains 5 Fury per attack. Having 50 or more Fury empowers his abilities with bonus effects but drains 50 Fury when they are used. Out of combat, he loses 5 Fury every 2 seconds. When Renekton is below 50% Health, Fury gains are increased by 50%.

When playing Renekton you must have timing. Timing his spells with his fury is the key to master renekton. Try to save your fury for your most dangerous spell this will make you win about any fights.
Q: Cull The Meek - Renekton swings his blade, dealing 40 / 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 (+0.8 per bonus attack damage) damage to nearby enemies and healing for 10% of the damage dealt, up to 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150.

When Renekton has more than 50 Fury he deals 50% additional damage and heals for 10% of the damage dealt, the healing hard cap is tripled. Consumes 50 Fury.

This skill is what makes renekton very special. As you can see this skill is an AOE. It hits everybody around you in a range of 250. It is a great skill for farming and it also heal you and give you great survivability in team fights.

FURY use: Amazing for killing creeps in the jungle and in the lane, you want to use the fury version of this ability when you need to heal or farm. If you need that extra damage to finish off an enemy and your W is on cooldown go ahead and pop this as well, the damage is very nice.
W: Ruthless Predator - Renekton's next attack swings twice, dealing 5 / 15 / 25 / 35 / 45 (+0.75 per attack damage) damage per hit, stunning his target for 0.75 seconds and applying on-hit effects.

When Renekton has more than 50 Fury, his next attack will swing three times dealing 5 / 15 / 25 / 35 / 45 (+0.75 per attack damage) damage per hit and stunning his target for 1.5 seconds. Consumes 50 Fury.

It's a nice stun no doubt. Since it is melee it is very good for cancelling ults and what not. Earlygame you can put out some nice damage as well with just a non fury charged stun. This is your main single target damage ability in fights... And early game it is going to hit HARD.

FURY use: This ability becomes exponentially better when you use it with fury. The damage early (and late) game is ridiculous and your stun lasts 1.5 seconds. Early game the enemies are going to be in shock when they see 1/3 of their health gone just like that. Main use is in fights to cripple a squishy but it can also be used for red buff if you don't need to heal.
E: Slice and Dice - Slice: Renekton dashes forward, dealing 45 / 75 / 105 / 135 / 165 (+0.9 per bonus attack damage) damage to targets along the way. If he hits a target he gains the ability to use Dice.

Dice: Renekton dashes, dealing 45 / 75 / 105 / 135 / 165 (+0.9 per bonus attack damage) damage along the way. When Renekton has more than 50 Fury during Dice, he deals 50% additional damage and shreds the armor of targets he hits by 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 % for 4 seconds. Consumes 50 Fury.

Slice 'em and Dice 'em. This ability is great for farming, chasing, initiating, escaping, and everything in between. The damage is actually really good and so is the scaling, however the main use is going to be for the dash - not the damage. It's too hard to S&D through enemies without being in a teamfight because of the range, so you wand to use the dash. Great for early game harassment and survivability. Here's some combos you should use with this ability.

Harrassment:
Slice in to all minions, use Cull The Meek for some quick fury, stun with Ruthless Predator, Dice out.

Healing:
Build up 50 fury,Slice in to minions, use Cull The Meek, Dice out.

Escaping: Run into bush, wait for enemy to move to the front of the bush (to cut off your escape). Stun if necessary, Slice through the enemy, Dice away.

Chasing/Ganking: Slice through minions if you can't reach the enemy, apply stun with Ruthless Predator, Dice through enemy along escape path, exhaust if you have it, use ignite if you still have it and spam Q and W.
Ultimate: Dominus - Renekton empowers himself with dark energies, gaining increased size and 300 / 450 / 600 health for 15 seconds. While empowered, he deals 50 / 75 / 100 (+10% of ability power) magic damage to nearby enemies and generates 5 Fury per second.

1) You are going to become much harder to kill with the instant heal it gives you.
2) If they do try to kill you, they are going to be punished the longer they are fighting you.
3) It gives you fury regeneration, meaning you are going to get fury up faster while you are fighting, meaning more damage.
4) It lasts 15 seconds! This means you are going to have an amazing DoT for the entire teamfight. Don't be afraid to pop this early before you gank as the fury you can build up can help to charge up from 0 to a larger duration stun, sometimes making the difference in a successful and non successful gank.

Masteries

Since this is a carry renekton build i obviously went 21/9/0. For the build i use those masteries are probably the most optimal one in the current metagame. They give you great damage during the entire game as well as good survivability and sustain during the laning stage.

Items

The type of Boots depends on the enemy. If there is alot of magic or disables usebut if there is Alot of physical damage useorfor more spell spam and more damage output.

3v3 Build

Starting item:
Unless you expect an early gank go for the dorans otherwise go armor 5 potion or boots 3 potion.

The early game items:
Yeah I changed my build a bit i dont use mercury treads as much as i was using it i like the cdr boots a little bit better.

The Mid game items:.

Late game items:

Spirit Visage:
This item give you an upgrade for any life steal you have and also upgrate the healing amout of your cull the meek. Beside his great cooldown reduction contribution this item also give you a great survivability.

Randuin Omen:
If you dont like the spirit Visage or you need more armor because your playing vs a tough physical opponents, randuin omen is a very good item for renekton and also give him a 5% cooldown reduction and this is just enough along with the yommus ghostblade.

My Offtank renekton build or 5v5 build:

Other items that I tried recently:
OK before you guys start calling the asylum to lock me in, listen to this. It works pretty well actually. Thx to Cowstep he actually wanted me to try Wits End, witch I did, it was ok but then I realized that if I could pull out a fury stun with a Madred Bloodrazor it would mean a 12% hp chunck instant and then 2 other hit while my target is stun so it means a warwick ult or even better than it since I cant get stun during my disable because its instant and the auto-attacks hurts even more. I destroyed so many hp dependant hero that rarely go for magic resistance like Olaf. And with the AD change they made and the buff to renekton it is even more viable since you get lot more damage output on every skills and also add tankiness and AS like Cowstep suggested me to add in my build. But this item remains situational because of his very high price. Because of the price factor, Wits End could be a better choice in most situation.
Its a good item for sure on renekton its like adding 2 more lvl on your ultimate. But i dont use it alot because my build is all about burst damage and auto-attack. But in some situation it would be a good pickup especially agaisnt a AD oriented team but I still prefer Randuin's Omen for that situation.
Again. Cowstep asked me to swap warmog for this and since the general atmogs nerf I prefer frozen mallet that guarranted slow witch is 40%. I dont see many situation where you would not want that big hammer.
Ok before anyone goes crazy about this it is actually viable. Trinity is one item that dosent give you much in the early game and mid game but kickass in the late game. Siriously it procs on your stun, we use alot of spells and we auto-attack between them so if you can hit an empowered auto-attack it makes your general playstyle alot better. Gives a slow proc, 30 dmg, 30% AS 15% crit chance and a sexy 12% movement speed. But like the Bloodrazor the price is very high so your farm need to be at the top if you plan going for this in the late game.

Unique Skills

This build make you stronger than mostly any hero you want to solo when you have all of your ability available.

In 3v3 you often have to deal with a tryndamere. To beat him it is really easy you engage with slice on him then you use ruthless predator and then cull the meek and dice over him. Then you activate your ultimate, activate Yommu's Ghostblade. He will probably activate his ultimate by now if he dosent stun him again and he should do it. During his ultimate he will have the choice of doing 2 things. Attracking you or flee. If he attacks, try to flee for like 2 seconds with your slice and after that stun him and exhaust him and keep ignite for the end of the ultimate to kill him even if he flees and try to heal. If he choose to flee just exaust him and catch up with him utill you can stun and ignite.

Tip- Try to follow with a melee attack or 2 after the use of each skills to maximize the damage dealt and the frequency you use each skills.

This build make you strong agaisnt any enemy even if they got 300 armor you will still be able to hurt them badly.

300-40%=180 For 200 armor it goes down to 34.
180-41=139
3 cleaver hit = -45 armor
139-45= 94.

In fact you hit them like they had only 94 armor and dont forget that your masteries gives your skills a 4% damage bonus.

And if you think its not enough you can use dice while you have over 50 rage to reduce it by an additional 25% and even use exhaust who reduce it by an additional 10 armor and bring down the 300 armor to 43

300-25%= 225
225-40%= 139
139-41= 98
98-45= 53
53-10= 43

I am not sure if it stacks in this order but it will surely be close to that. The fact is whatever your enemy is buying if his armor does not excced 300 you will deal near 100% damage to them and if their armor is below 200 it will be like dealing true damage to them. So dont panic if you see a thornmail it will only be a 2k waisted money and a inventory lost slot.

Runes

The Greater Quintenesse of strenght mixed with greater mark of desolation give you a great damage boost with the doran's blade. It allow you to farm well with Cull the Meek while giving you a great chance on getting the first blood.

With the recent change with lifesteal and items i started using Greater Quintessence of Vampirism for lifesteal and i have to say it works pretty well. It gives me good lane sustain and a good late game potential since its a % based number.

I use Greater Seal of Resilience for early game armor and strong lane presence and Greater Glyph of Shielding for late game magic resist.

Summoner Spells

The summoners spell i use are super aggressive. It often give me the first blood when i solo and give me the ability to wihstand any other champion in the game on a 1v1 situation.
I use ignite when enemy are at low health or going to escape to make a sure kill. You can also use it to reduce the healing of an enemy during the fights if this one got alot of life steal or spell vamp.
Exhaust has many use. Catching up with an escaping enemy by slowing them. Use it during an enemy combo attack(Xin Zaho 3 Talon Strike) to turn it into a weak one and giving you a damage advantage over him. You can also use it for his magic resist and armor reduction in combat to have a better damage output. The reduction works very well with your armor pen runes early game because it reduce the enemy armor near 0 and often under 0 so you can deal massive damage while the enemy is exhausted.

Conclusion

Renekton is a butcher and need to decimate his enemies by cutting their flesh off. This build give this aspect. With no armor left there is only the flesh of your enemy to attack and this is exacly what you will be doing with it. Remember that the Croc eat the meat and not the armor :P.
