Introduction
For my runes I go with attack speed quintessences and marks, plus critical damage seals, and cooldown reduction glyphs. I feel that attack speed is the most important stat for the way I build Vayne. However with the cap at 2.5 the quintessences, marks, and items get me close to that without the waste of hitting the cap. The critical damage from the seals I feel is better than the crit chance seals because they both only increase a small percentage. Getting your crit chance 5% closser to 100 I feel is less helpful the getting your crits to hit 5% harder when they are hitting for over 1000 already. And finally the cooldown reduction from the glyphs and items will get your tumbles CD down to between 1.6 and 1.2 seconds. This is very powerful because tumble has the most utility out of your abilities and a huge burst of damage after you use it. Also your Last Hour will be ready more often.
I get all the player killing masteries in offense and skip the pusher ones except for 1 point in butcher just to get to the next tier. If you use exhaust or ignite I would recommend getting the summoners wrath rank instead of butcher but I don't have those as I'll explain later. I get 3 ranks of resistance to bring up my low magic resist and 3 ranks of good hands to get me back in the fight quicker when i die. This gives me 24/3/3.
I get a vampiric scepter at the start of the game for the life steal which can keep you in lane for a long time without having to recall for health. When I do need to go back I get the emblem of valor and berserker greaves. As soon as I can I get the starks ferver which gives you enough life steal through early and mid game. I then get a black clever and a youmuu's ghostblade to increase my damage. By now you should be doing very well in team fights as long as you can stay out of the middle of it and not get focused. The next items I get are the heavier items of mandred's bloodrazor and infinities edge. Adding both of these will make you a feared enemy among the opposite team and they will try to kill you at the start of every team fight. If the game makes it long enough and you have enough gold to sell your boots and buy a bloodthirster it will help alot. With this item build you will be critting for well over 1000 and getting back about 1/4 of your hp with each shot, which will now have an attack speed of close to 2.5. Personal examples of what it can do is solo the barron and 3 shot a fed level 18 twitch from full hit points.
I start out with tumble for harrasment and manually dodging skill shots the silver bullets second and third condemned for the knockback and stun, be sure to knock enemies into a wall or turret to get the stun and double damage. I max out tumble at level 9 because its cooldown goes down by 1 second with each rank. Tumble is very important but you must use it right. You can use it to set up a condemned shot into a wall, for the stealth during final hour, or just for the damage increase when harassing and killing enemies. Silver bullets should be maxed second because each rank increases the true damage it does by percentage of max hit points, don't forget the increased damage is only from the third shot. Condemned after the first rank at level 3 I cap last because it only reduces the cooldown but not by enough to make a big differance until late game. Final hour being an ultimate should be learned at 6, 11, and 16 and only used in team fights and only after the team commits or when you need to catch a fed enemy with low hit points. You can also use it in a solo fight with tumble to make you enemy loose target of you because of stealth.
I get teleport as my first summoner spell for the utility of being able to get to the battle or a turret with a minion wave fast. I also get heal because Vayne is very squishy and until you are getting alot of health from life steal its nice to have the heal to save you from feeding.
Be sure to go with the team and take advantage of your range by standing behind the melee. Any time you get the chance to condemn someone into a wall do it. Also use condemn to stop channeled spells including knocking a spinning garren or a suppressing warrick off of people. Stay out of the center of team fights because thats where all the AoE damage is done. Don't forget if they catch you alone or in front of your team you wont last long.
Vayne is a very fun and powerful champion to play. If you are able to farm gold and not get countered to hard by the enemy team you should do well. If you are able to play her skillfully and get the late game items I've laid out you will be very happy with her damage and ability to carry an OK team to a victory. Good luck and don't forget:
