is goredrinker viable now? before nerfs this item was amazing but now it's ugh

I don't think goredrinker is as good as some of the other options available to Illaoi. I'm experimenting with different mythics atm, including tank ones. Currently I think Sunderer is still best.

Hey man! I'd say im doing pretty good with illaoi so far, with conqueror, but I really want to try your build and runes. I'd like to know how is your build better than lets say hexdrinker, like what is its good and bad side. I read that its more focused on laning phase, can you be more precise? any matchups that it is better against? ranged, or heavy tanks like ornn, or something? thank you!

Could you elaborate a bit? Are you asking when you should build hexdrinker? As far as matchups go, you win almost every matchup. What counters Illaoi in lane is ranged harass that doesn't let you get on top of them and can safely take out your tentacles. Late game Kayle is an example of someone that's hard to beat.

Gj, I really like your guide. Illaoi is definitely one of the stronger 1v9 champions in the game rn imo. I recently met a Quinn that took glacial augment and basically kited me to death. Is there any way to avoid this scenario and if I can't avoid it, how do I survive it?

Lol, that sounds like a really rough time. Ranged matchups are skill matchups that are NOT in your favor. If you connect your E, you will whittle them down, which is really the only way to deal with ranged matchups. Once they get lifesteal your life is just really hard. Play for teamfights, survive lane phase. If you get a big lead in lane, abuse it.

Q max also helps a lot here, more consistent poke (unless you land every E with maxing it). It also makes farming a lot easier.

So guide seems pretty good, just wondering why the ? It seems like it makes her a bit squishy, I'm gussing you're using it for the omni vamp and cd? I also can't see to many situations where she will use the passive, not critiquing to hard here as I'm not an Illaoi main, just wondering the reasoning/thought process.

You're on the right track! You really need to omnivamp to stay alive for a longer duration of time, it works really well with DD (which used to give you both of those things pre item-rework). The OTHER little known reason, is that ravenous applies to abilities too.... this means EVERY enemy hit with EACH q, applies cleave!! Of course, you also heal off it!

Yep! The other part of that is that Grasp is better for lane phase. I am a strong believer that playing for lane phase is better in solo queue, where getting an advantage in lane is really important.
