Champion Build Guide
[Update]
Decided to update this guide with the meta changes that happened this year. Runes and builds are optimized for better scaling. Lethal tempo + guinsoos helps vayne a ton during the transition to mid / late game allowing her to make plays earlier in the game. All in all Vayne has become easier to play in my opinion this season as long as you have a decent enough support.
Itemization
things to note with the builds~
Kraken:
heavily reliant on all ins early (early kills to get noonquiver or berserks asap). This build is more reliant late game so gold leads and proper CSing are a must knows to keep the lead and not get destroyed mid game. This build has become a bit more managable to build since you still end up with guinsoos and PD, however you will nto have the shield / life steal from shieldbow.
Shield Bow:
this is a more balanced option to help with scaling through early to mid game (vaynes weakest sections of the game). shield bow allows survivability, and guinsoos helps with getting the early AS to comfortably keep your leads mid game (and to prevent yourself from falling off too much mid game in case you're playing from behind). IMO this build is a better all around build that compensates for many of vaynes weaknesses while still having decent DPS going into late game (on-hit items help with this). This also helps with keeping your leads since you wont need too much of a gold advantage to continually keep buying each of the items.

General Tip
Vayne heavily depends on her support. Highly would recommend finding a duo partner if you can to climb. If not, you'll need to play the safe game and try to find any advantages you can (whether it be easy dragons to take, ganks, small skirmishes, or farming). If you find yourself losing a lot in lower elo due to a literal 1v5 situation, I would suggest itemizing the shield bow build and improve mechanics/macro to put yourself in a good position TO 1v5 (have to remember that vayne is not invincible, but has a lot of 1v3+ potential).
