Always take flash!!! Depending on your team decide between ignite and exhaust. I prefer ignite but if your team has 2 ignites always take exhaust. Otherwise i always take ignite!

Sona is one of the best supports in lol. She has a good laning phase with her q for poke and w for sustain for your adc and you. Where she really excels is teamfighting. When you get close to your full build you can start really spamming your abilities. Spamming q and w deals dumb amounts of damage and heals your team forever! Her r also is a beast in teamfights. Whether you use it for getting picks on one or two champs or line it up for a 5 man the ult is flat out broken. Also do not be afraid of taking kills! If your adc is not 100% sure they will finish an enemy for the kill TAKE IT!!! Sona can carry games! If you get 2 kills very early consider skipping redemption for more ap items to carry with.

Assuming you have a 5 man team knowing when to pick sona is very important. Most team comps will but a high priority on support picks usually first picking a zyra or karma. You should only pick sona after they have picked their support! If they see that you pick a sona they will just pick braum who hard counters sona(look at matchups for specifics). If you have a good sona player (Who WILL carry games) consider banning braum and first picking sona. If they see a braum ban they may but a higher priority on picking sona!
