Spells:
Ghost
Flash
Ability Order
Granite Shield (PASSIVE)
Malphite Passive Ability
Introduction
I personally use
and
for this build simply because with Ghost you can land a Seismic Shard on the enemy and with the mastery point in Ghost you will be able to catch up plus have the movement speed bonus from your "Q" so if you are still in your Ghost with the bonus speed then you are sure to get the kill either for your team or yourself. Secondly I use Flash because paired with your Ultimate "Unstoppable Force" You can flash in and rush the enemy team. Leading to an amazing start to a team fight. Or you can "Q" and Flash away if your in need of an escape. Either way the possibilities are endless as to what you can do with these two spells if you know what you are doing with them.

Pros:
No real problems to speak of.
Passive is amazing for escaping death from Ultimate's like Karthus'
High harassment and damage early game with Seismic Shard.
Unstoppable Force can be used to jump over walls escape certain death and to save allies easily.
All around hard to kill.
In my experience Malphite is often underestimated.
Cons:
Mana starved early game IF you spam your abilities too much.
If you miss your Ultimate you miss alot of damage and CC.
Ground Slam is sometimes a pain to land on fleeing Champions.
Being Tanky often causes side effects such as being overly greedy, feeling the need to taunt or laugh at your enemy constantly or just stand there and take hits like a BOSS when taking down an enemy turret late game.

Usually when I am in a lane I am laning with either my brother or a friend. And generally we will choose a combination that works well to cover each others flaws OR just a combination that is capable of making the other team angry from all the harassment we put them through. Always remember that Malphite has a slow effect on his "Q" Seismic Shard. So with that you could pair that with a well timed Exhaust and a heavy AD or AP Champion to clean up the kill. If you are close enough use your "Q" then following with a quick Brutal Strikes+Ground Slam. Pairing those two skills together will deal decent damage with whatever your lane partner is dishing out as well seeing as to how your "W" Brutal Strikes increases your armor and your "E" damage is affected by your Defense it also slows the enemies attack speed. So with all of that combined... You will be slowing the enemy increasing your armor and slowing your enemies attack speed WHILE dealing about 200+ damage to them not including what your laning partner has already dished out. Depending on how far away the enemy is from their turret you are almost guaranteed a kill. Because after all. You do have your trusty Flash spell to cut them off. Also while laning with someone I tend to only lower the health of the creeps. Even though I am capable of dealing decent damage early AND late game. I feel it is more important to feed all the creeps to my partner so they can have all the gold in the world. The best partner is a fed partner after all. You will get all of your gold from the Assists/Kills you make in your lane and out of your lane.
The reason I chose the items I have in the order I have is very simple. For 1. Chalice of Harmony will keep you from running completely out of mana. You will always be regenerating at a good enough rate to continue your harassment with "Q" Can never have enough mana when your on a tank. Also I usually try to rush a Banshees Veil because the low cool down on the passive makes for some pretty epic escapes although sometimes based on luck but early game it can save you if you are playing smart and cautiously. For instance, this has happened to me more times than I care to remember. But if you are low on HP and your Veil is up while you are running away if there is any champ on the other team with REALLY cheap abilities like Karthus' Ult or Blitzcrank's Grab then your sure to block them and still get away safely, I never used to use Banshees Veil but over the last couple months ive located a new found respect for it. It may not seem too helpful to rush it as a beginning item but trust me it will help you in the long run. You will also notice that I have chosen alot of high armor/magic resist items. It may take some time to build these items if your team isnt doing well. But the items they require are still very good to have. With choices like Cloth Armor if your low on Gold or a Chain Vest if you have just enough. Armor is Armor. As well as the Negatron Cloak for Magic Resist. Or the Regrowth Pendants even. All are welcome choices for early game survivability. Always remember that even though I purchase these items in this order. It is ALWAYS acceptable to mix the purchase route up depending on the needs of the current situation. Look at the other team and see what you need more. Or even just in your lane. 2 AD champs in a lane, then prioritize your Defense item first. AD/AP in your lane get the item you feel is most needed at that particular time. Simple. Easy. Common sense.
Well I dont really know what else to say. I mean everything ive said is all you need to know. Everything else is self explanatory. As I said in the introduction this is my first guide and I hope you find it to be useful, feedback is always welcome and I will again state that this is how ~I~ enjoy playing Malphite and this is in no way shape or form how I feel EVERYONE should play him. I have found that he is extremely devastating with an AP build as well. But if you are seen choosing Malphite everyone else will be squishy and automatically think you are tanking. Besides. With your tanking capabilities why WOULDNT you wanna tank? I wish I had some screenshots to show you the potential of this build but unfortunately I cannot provide any. Well, this is the conclusion to my build Stonewall. I hope you enjoyed it and hope it was up to your standards. I didnt spend a terribly long time making this build but if it gets good votes or good comments perhaps I will make more guides. For now. Its just a waiting game. Good luck, Have fun. And I hope to see you all on the Fields of Justice!
