Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Hey, and welcome to my Teemo guide, this is my first guide after joining Mobafire, and I will explain how Teemo can work, early, mid and late game.
As far as yordles are concerned, there is something slightly wrong with Teemo. While he enjoys - and in fact needs - the level of community and companionship inherent to all yordles, Teemo feels it so strongly that he ventures out on his own to destroy the enemies of Bandle City. There is something that switches off in Teemo, so that the lives he ends do not burden him. It seemed only logical to send him to fight in the League of Legends as the champion of Bandle City. He has taken to the League like a duck to water, seeking out the foes of the yordles and extinguishing them with the rare ajunta poison he personally gathers from the jungles of ***ungu. However, the limited company of his own kind wears on Teemo, and cracks are beginning to show in his innocent and chipper fade.
''Though he is known as the Swift Scout, it is clear that Teemo is actually something else - the unrepentant assassin of Bandle City.''
Teemo can have a very large damage output if you play him right. The lane you wish to aim for is the Middle lane, here you get the most experience (obviously) and gain levels faster and therefore fed of both minions and/or the opposite mid champion if they feed you.
Firstly, by your dagger, however a Vampiric Scepter may also be an advantage as it will allow you to lane for longer. You are going to want to harass the opposing champion with both toxic shot and blinding shot (Especially blind shot if playing against a champion like Ashe). A blind gives you a huge advantage when it comes to solo lane. When you hit level 6, this is when you start placing your mushrooms, always put them in the bushes either side of you, 3 in each, and 3 on the inner side so if the mid champion tries going top or bot whilst you have recalled, it is easier to call your lanes MIA. Mushrooms also help when enemies try to gank, their is a 90% chance they will hit your mushrooms and you will see an incoming gank.
Early Game - Single Lane (Levels 1-6)
Buy your dagger, and run to your lane, Toxic Shot will be your first skill, harass with this, if you are in the same lane as a melee champion, keep harassing him with your toxic shot, if a ranged, try to get a blinding shot and then a toxic shot in, if you are against champions like Zilean, you will want to play very carefully, and dodge his bombs, they have a large damage output and you can be harassed very easily early game.
Farm minions until you have enough gold and you are level 6, then recall and buy your Berserker Greaves, remember you have teleport therefore you can shop fast, and get back to your lane so your lane partner is not left alone for too long. If you are fed at this point you may also have enough gold to purchase some of the materials needed for your Malady, it is a huge advantage if you can get this along with your boots early game.
Mid Game - Single Lane (Levels 6-11)
You now have your best friends (Your mushrooms) Place your mushrooms everywhere, try not to put them in the middle of the lanes were the minions will tread on them, put them in the river, the bushes, and on the outskirts of the minion paths. You do not want to place them close together, otherwise they will have no effects, if you space them out, the enemy champion has a chance of running into one, and hitting another, taking damage and reapplying the debuff.
If you realize an enemy champion has stepped on one of your mushrooms, you have a chance of getting a kill, run up to them, apply poison and a blinding dart, and exhaust them if it is useable. You should have enough attack speed by now to take an enemy down.
If you realize and/or an allied champion calls for help, you can always help them out. Wait for the correct timing, and then place a mushroom behind the enemy, attack them and if they chase you, lead them to your mushrooms, this will slow them and give you a huge advantage. And also possible for a kill.
Late Game - Single Lane (Levels 11-18)
By this point, you should have at least up to your Infinity's Edge, this allows you to do a huge amount of damage along with the attack speed & life steal. You are a huge advantage in team fights as you will do 85% of the damage, if you focus on a target the team or the tank is focusing on, place some mushrooms around the team fight so if you're team looses, there is a chance the enemy will run into your mushrooms and be slowed, giving you the perfect opportunity to run (Remember when you recall as Teemo, and stand still for 3 seconds, you will be stealthed).
Tips to bare in mind:
- Always use your Mushrooms, fill the map with them.
- Have Move Quick available to get away swiftly.
- Lead enemy chasers into your mushrooms.
- Recalling for 3 seconds allows you to become invisible and not seen by enemies whilst recalling.
- Harass early game with both Toxic Shot & Blinding Shot (Depending on the Champion)
- Very Fast.
- Mushrooms Reveal the map.
- Stealth when standing still for 3 seconds.
- Recall whilst Stealthed
- Good Harasser early game
- Squishy early game.
- Squishy late game.
- Mushrooms can be seen if an enemy champion has an Oracle.
