Pros
Great burst damage output
Great at ganking
Nice blink/silence with Cutthroat (good for stopping that stupid OP Trynd from using his Ult.)
Can stealth and hurt enemies and even more damage if they chase, with Shadow Assault.
Rake and Shadow Assault can be used to chase or escape, along with Cutthroat (although it's hard to use as an escape tool)
Cons
VERY squishy
bad attack speed
not very fast for an assassin.
VERY reliant on abilities (a Silence can mess things up for you)

So yea easy enough to use. Burst his Abilities and that's about it. I usually harass with Rake until they are under half and wait for the right moment to Shadow Assault, then blink to their location with Cutthroat (all the Shadow Assault will hit them and they are suddenly down a good chunk of health) follow immediately with Noxian Diplomacy and finally Rake to keep them from getting away if they do survive all that.
Play cautious because your character is VERY squishy and can't take too many hits. Run In, Kill, and Run Out. Hit some minions for Lifesteal if you don't wanna go back and add stacks to The Blood Thirster.
Teamwork is important. Because Talon really shines with his ability to gank and finish off weakened enemies. Set up a gank by getting your team to bait them away from their turret. And being in a lane with a character that slows or stuns is very useful.

Okay a useful section. So items I would start with a Long Sword and a Health Potion. From there rush Brutalizer and more Health Potions. I usually get the boots late (I know because his Cutthroat is a nice way to jump on them or chase. I will first get my best friend B.F. Sword usually followed by a Vampiric Scepter (so no more Health Potions needed) unless you really need the Boots of Speed. Then either get The Blood Thirster or, again, if needed Boots of Swiftness. Once you get The Blood Thirster try to not die and farm minions to get the stacks. For the rest of the time get the items as listed. As far as the last item get whatever might be needed, I usually get either a Frozen Heart or a Madred's Bloodrazor if there is a high HP character like Cho, Garen, Nunu, or Alistar.
