I've done some editing, took out the ArPen Marks, and added AS marks. I've played with them and I found them more useful.

About the runes, I have ArPen marks because, even when you do a lot of magic dmg, you will do much more physical dmg, especially using lich bane. Also you have high damaging blows at the beggining and is very helpful when you dont have Q W E and R combo. And... well, i get sometimes infinity edge instead of rabaddon. I crit more offten, do lots of dmg and got the same hp that I would get with rabbadon. Thats will depend on the other team. If they are very tanky i would go for infinity because fights are longer, you have to stay longer, and infinity provides a better continuous dmg. If they have a couple of high dmg squishies I would take rabbadon to take them quickly.
Anyways, you can use whatever runes you think are apropiate, as long as they fit jax gameplay. Magic Pen runes also are good for him. I would buy all AS marks also, i think having 25% AS right at the beggining will be awesome with Jax.

Phantom dancer gives you also 30% critical chance. Thats a good number for your bursty jax. I suppouse you may change it for Nashor, or some other item with high AS, you will see whats fit better on that particulary match.
I put phantom dancer cuz in mostly matches I find it the best item, I change it for SotD when there is a teemo or a old Corki, or another jax.

Rageblade isnt for me. Is a very good item, but you have to buy two items that are at least for me difficult to get early. The wand 860 gold and the pickaxe 975 gold. I buy hextech with 1200 gold, and find buying the tomes of 435 gold much easier. Also when you have your revolver you have to buy a mana cristal of 400 gold to build shen. Or wait and spare money to get the 860 wand or 975 pickaxe. There are no larger battles or long battles until now, why would i need rageblade? There are skirmish battles, of harassment. I need to harass better, not dealing more and more dmg as the battle continous. So I find myself prefering sheen. When the battles are long enough to justify rageblade, rageblade isnt good enough. The Hextech gunblade defeats the rageblade, and its almost the same price since i got the revolver.

You have 150 from hextech and 80 from lich, so you have 230, and i ussualy buy a elixir, so i get 260 ap. Sheen procs 117 max. And you have more movement speed. But, you can buy rabaddons first, it just depend, this guide isnt particulary about items, its about how to play. Perhaps you will find useful having a quicksilver slash instead of the rabbadon at the end because there is a malz on the other team or something like that. I tried to do just a general item sequence, and focused on how to play, not what to buy. Thanks for comment!

I would suggest you're Lich bane after your deathcap, as it is now, when you get your lich bane, the proc effect will barely be more effective than a sheen. If you dont have significantly more AP than AD, then the lich bane proc wont be as good.

@Rageblade ***s, you don't need a rageblade, you talk about how great it is, rageblade only works if you can outrun your enemy or they decide to stay and fight. Which depending on how good you're doing, depends on whether they stay or not. If you're nto doing well, rageblade sucks, if you're doing well, then they're ******ed for staying around you to give you a kill.

I tried this build and i think with all my advice you should put a bit more attack speed and on hit effect items and Bump of the rageblade you need that malady and wits end are also great examples.

Nice item build, but I dont get the runes actually...
greater mark of desolation makes no sense on mostly AP jax, since 90% of your damage is gonna be magic damage so I'd take Greater Mark of Magic Penetration for more burst. Never tried attackspeed quints, maybe I should try this as well! =)

I understand the part with Phantom Dancer for speed and attackspeed, but don't you have enough speed with Nimbleness and Lich Bane?

Better you'd pick another item that gives you insane attackspeed and more burst damage as Guinsoo's Rageblade (only early game), Malady, Nashor's Tooth or Wit's End. It's what I think, but your Guide looks nice. Explanations against other Dodging champs and so on.
