Orianna, dance into oblivion

There once was a Piltovian man named Corin Reveck who had a daughter named Orianna, whom he loved more than anything else in the world. Though Orianna had incredible talent for dancing, she was deeply fascinated by the champions of the League of Legends. This fascination compelled her to begin training to become such a champion. It is unfortunate that her sheltered, wide-eyed naivete led her to take unnecessary and dangerous chances which ultimately led to her tragic demise. Orianna’s death shattered Corin, driving him into deep depression and an obsession with techmaturgy. He could not stand the void his daughter’s death left in his life, so he decided to build a replacement – one that would complete Orianna’s dream of joining the League. What was created is the clockwork killing machine that Corin named after his daughter. Knowing that she was destined to be a champion and seeing the way the times were changing, he created The Ball as her pet and protector. This nearly symbiotic creation uses a different type of techmaturgy, relying more heavily on electricity than clockwork.

Orianna and The Ball now fight as Champions in the League of Legends, using the Clockwork Girl’s sometimes misguided morality as a compass. She tries in earnest to fit in with those around her. However, no matter how hard she tries, Orianna can never be human and there is always something unnerving and alien about her. Though she attempts social interaction with other champions in the League of Legends, there are few who can get past her exotic nature. To many, it’s as if there’s nothing inside, that Orianna is just a soulless clockwork shell – a dangerous and deadly one at that. However, all along she remains the perfect daughter in her father’s eyes.

Introduction

Orianna is a very special champion.
It's hard to give good advice for playing her since all you need are good reflexes and a feeling for timing.

Still I can give a few little advices for playing her:
1. Try combining your Q and E spell as much as possible to hit enemy champions twice
2. Use your ball to look into bushes. Also you can use it in early lane phase by putting it into the bush by the water so you won't get ganked by junglers or missing champs on lanes. Pretty usefull since in early game phase you don't have that much mana spare.
3. Time your ulti to pull enemy champions into tower, preventing them to chase you further, initiate teamfights aso.
4. As soon as you have enough mana you can use your W spell to speed you and your teammates up giving you better map control
5. When chasing an enemy use your Q spell to reach enemy champ and then slow him with your W spell. If you cant reach the champ first speed you up with your W spell and then slow him.. mostly they won't get away

As I allready said it is all about timing and reflexes.. also the fact that the ball attacks from it's current position is very new and not easy to get used to it. So if you are a player not comfortable with skill shots I recomend not to use Orianna.

Summoner Spell

I myself prefer Teleport if I take mid lane to be more mobile if I decide to go base to early.
What also works fine is Blinkor Ignite.
With Blink it is nearly impossible to chase you down. Also you be able to chase other enemys better or getting in good position for attacking. I saw ignite a few times on other Orianna players. It's is pretty anoying but based on the fact that you have a huge range with your ball you don't need to get closer for your ignite spell.

Skill Sequence

I prefer focusing on the Attack and Defens spell because you can combine them as mentioned above to deal dmg and shielding you and your teammates in early game.
There are several player going for W spell first to farm creeps but the fact the W spell costs to much mana is a big contra. Also the Q and E spell combination does much more dmg on all the creeps since you can throw the ball twice trough them (the first time with percentage dmg reduction by hit but by shielding you there is no dmg reduction on the E spell)

Items

Core build is everything except Ziona's Hourglass. There you can change as u feel

For your last item I also recomend:

Lich bane

With enough health you are very good able to go a little closer and deal some extra dmg enhanced with your passiv ability

Will of the Acient

If you use your spells often in a team where you only get 1-2 focusing you because the rest is to busy you can use some Spellvamp for more durability

Buy Potions.. they are very usefull.. Orianna doesn't need much AP in early-mid game... at mid-late game you can decide for yourself if you like to buy them or not but its 10% CDR among with your runes make buying CDR boots or other CDR items not really necessary. Thats also why I never chose CDR boots at the beginning. With the penetration shoes you don't need AP to deal dmg and you can buy your health and mana items which you definitly need for the whole game.

Item Buy order

You can start with a. I tryed buying Zionas Ring or Manaregeneration, but you really want to get youras fast as even possible. Also with the Manaspell you will be provided with enough Mana until you get the Catalysator (you can also very well use it during Mid game if you use your spells in a proper amount)

Afterwards I directly go for
The next items are bought in the order as seen at the beginning of the Guide.

EDIT:
I first hadin my Buy sequence in order to have enough Mana. But a few games proved to me, that you will have to get more AP as soon as possible to keep up with the team, it might still work verywell if you first buybut its more risky.
It's better to go for a little AP then to much Mana since you need additional output

Laning

Don't use your spells to much at the beginning it is unnecessary since you won't do to much dmg so save your mana for lvl 3-4 occasionly use your Ball as mobile ward.

Support your team by buying wards. They don't cost much and they give you map control.

Farming

Go and farm jungle spots like Golems, Ghosts and Wolfs. At around lvl 10 you don't even have to enter jungle you can simply kill the creeps by throwing your ball with Q spell and killing the creeps with W spell.

Stats

I tryed a few type of builds but this one certanley profed to be the best until now.]

As you can see the dmg output is pretty amazing and even without really starting to get your core items you deal a good amount of dmg (for the last one I have to say, that i was able to play with a Nidalee on lane both having Clarity which provided us endless with mana)

Summary

Orianna is a very good support mage with a lot of dmg output. Based on the games I saw I asume she will get nerfed on next patchday.

You have to get used to the champ she is very tricky to play but alot of fun if it's done right.
