Introduction
This is my first guide, so bear with me here as I attempt to keep things as simple as possible. Feel free to leave feedback so that I can make changes and improve it!
Thanks!
Much like most ADC's, you want to rush IE first, as it gives you strong damage, as well as crit. This is your first, and most important core item. You want to try to stay in lane until you have enough to afford your BF Sword on your first back, plus 2 health pots. If you can't afford it, you can go pickaxe, but I typically go boots and pots, especially if the lane is skill shot heavy, as the added move speed will help you dodge more effectively.
After the IE, finish your berserker's greaves, and then rush a static shiv. I personally think phantom dancer is the better item for Trist, as you don't need the extra burst from shiv since you have already have her E. However, Most top players are using shiv instead, and their reasoning is that it allows you to farm and split push even quicker, plus you can disperse damage in a team fight even quicker. Also, the current meta (tanky jg's and top lanes makes shiv the better choice. Try them both out, use what works best for you, but Shiv is (right now) the better item.
After IE and PD, you can start diversifying your build. By that I mean, the order in which you build your next two items. If the team isn't particularly tanky, build blood thirster to get the added AD plus life steal which really helps your sustain in team fights, followed by Last Whisper. If they do have a tank however, build a last whisper and then BT.
You should always build a LW as an adc, even if they aren't building armor, as most champs' scaling armor per level makes it necessary eventually.
As a last item, I tend to build a guardian angel. As Tristana really excels at jumping into the fight, the extra armor/mr/life can make a world of difference.

Take a first level E as it helps you farm easier, followed by a second level Q if your lane is more aggressive. If the enemy jg is lurking, or you are getting out poked, go W as a disengage if need be.
After you have all 3 skills, max your E first, followed by Q, and finally your W. Put a point into your ult at every level.

Tristana is an incredibly simple and easy to play ADC that can still be played in the top tier of competition. On top of that she is really fun once you learn how to play her.
Starting out early game, she is especially weak, more so then most other adc's. She make up for this by being insanely strong mid-late game. She has great dealing, and can even 2v1 easily.
Starting early game you need to be cautious and try to farm hard until you have your second item. Afterwards you can start to roam and group with your team, but until then try to just farm up and play it safe. In lane when you poke remember that you can throw your E on people and even if they run out of range it will still do good damage. Obviously the more stacks you can land on it the better, but don't be too aggressive to land a single shot, as you can easily be caught out and locked down.
After you get your PD coupled with an IE, you are ready to experience Tristana. What separates her from most adc's is that she thrives on jumping into the fight. Remember that your W resets on a kill/assist, so jumping into the group to finish someone off allows you to jump right back out.
In a teamfight, throw your e as soon as possible and start hammering them with autos. Remember that your Q will allow you to detonate the charge even quicker. If someone comes close to you, simply W away, or use your ult to knock them away and keep auto'ing.
Remember also that you can "insec" champs by a well placed W behind the target and an ult knocking them back into the team. This is not advised as a team fight initiate though, because you won't be able to get away from their team. Your longevity in a team fight is crucial, as you will be the team's biggest damage dealer.
In terms of deuling, you want to avoid it until you you have your second item, maybe even your BT. Throw your E+Q on early and kill them, there isn't much else to do. Sometimes I try to W behind them and ult them away from their escape route if I know I'm going to win.
Be wary of using your ult.
I say this because many times Tristana's won't be thinking and ult the person away from the fight, allowing them to escape. Only use it when you are SURE you will kill them (honestly maybe not even then, as you can probably just win with auto's), or to disengage.
Tristana has arguably the strongest split push mid-late game, as her E's passive allows her to clear waves quickly, and her E activate does mad damage to turrets. They either have to send 2-3 people to you, or risk losing 2 turrets fast.
