This guide shows the way i build on Solo Toplane. Udyr is a very strong 1 vs. 1 melee fighter that uses his stances to reach maximum effectivenes by timing their special abilitys to combo enemys down. When you start laning 1 vs. 2 it is realy hard to get some farm, but when you manage it to keep your lane up or even win the lane, Udyr starts to beast !!!

Pros:

You are a beast in 1 vs. 1
You are a beast in chasing/escaping
Your sustain is a beast
did i mention that you are pretty much BEAST ?!

Cons:

KITE MAKES YOU RAGE, BUT NOT BEAST !!!
1 vs. 2 early game is a lost lane ...

Max your Iron Mantle first, because it offers you great sustain through manareg and hpreg depending on the damage you deal and gives you a shield that blocks the first drop so you can start fights without arriving at less than half hp + Shield tanks ignite while u try to escape. THIS SKILL SAVES YOUR LIFE !!!
After that max your Wilding Claw because it deals fair amount of damage and buffs your attackspeed so your wriggle's will proc more often while farming or killing Dragon/Baron
Max your Blazing Stampede last, because all it offers is extra movementspeed boost and this is not as important as damage and sustain !!! THIS SKILL IS A GREAT ESCAPE/CHASE TOOL DO NOT FORGET ABOUT IT !!!
IMO Wingborne Storm is just useful, when pushing hard so I skill this at 16-18 to improve my push/backdoor ability. It offers some little bonus AD and AP which is nice for towerpushing but not realy necessary.

You might think: WTF IS THIS GUY ******ED ? WHERE ARE THE MS QUINTS AND WHY DOES HE GET THIS BONUS AD INSTEAD ?!?!?!
I think, if u take Initiator in the defense tree your movmentspeed with bear stance is high enough to chase or escape any champ. And if he is still faster just use Ghost !!! I pick 12 ArPen because i like to jungle some when my lane is already won or i cant hold it 1 minute longer AND this also helps your damage-output when u are harassing the enemy with ur. The bonus AD helps you lasthit and offers some bonus dmg with your Q.
The armor seals are pretty obvious: most solotop champs are AD !!! So armor WILL keep you alive when u harass each other !!!
I take the mr/lvl glyphs to help out my defense against burst AP dmg during mid/lategame, because when you survive the first drop you will outsustain them in most situations.

Masteries are pretty obvious IMO 9/21/0 offers some more damageoutput + improved ghost and the defense tree offers awesome sustain, tankyness and not to forget movementspeed and CC-reduction against kiters like Ashe

Ghost ---> MS stacks with your Blazing Stampede ---> chase/escape BEAST
Teleport ---> Farm, Farm, Farm, Farm makes your enemy think WTF DIDN'T HE BLUEPILL ???
WHERE DID HE GET THIS ITEMS WITHOUT EVEN LETTING ME FREE FARM ?!?!?! + this skill together with wriggle's gives your team easy dragon control !!! --> advantage in gold --> higher chance to WIN THIS GAME BY BEASTING !!!

When you lane vs. heavy ad or champs with low amount of skillshots start with Cloth Armor+5 because it gives you 5*150 hpregen and some bonus armor that stacks with your runes and makes you tankier vs most solotop champs. Vs. heavily skillshot reliant or very mobile champs get boots+3 because it helps you dodging attacks and getting in range fast to counterharass with your Wilding Claw.

Build wriggle's ASAP, it improves your farmability gives you sustain some AD AND A FREE WARD !!! Many people underestimate this item but I think its a must for solotop because of the great utility it offers. DONT FORGET YOU ARE UDYR IT STACKS WITH YOUR Iron Mantle !!!

After that get HoG even if u outfarm your lane opponent because you will build randuins later and the gp10 is a way to get your equip faster than the enemy and this item could make the difference when you face a strong harasser/farmer that just roflstomps your farm.

Merc Treads pretty obvious anti-kite+mr = awesome.

Get vampiric if u find ourself outsustained and just punished out of the lane 24/7, if this is not the case get it whenever you want it. DONT FORGET YOU ARE UDYR IT STACKS WITH YOUR Iron Mantle !!!
FoN boost your MS your hp/5 and your magic resist so you can BEAST EVEN MORE and just pwn the enemy's ap carry in mid/lategame.

After this I build phage to hug enemys after the first hit and just combo them down during the chase. It also offers some HP and DMG --> IMPROVING YOUR BEAST !!!

Build TriForce ASAP after this because the whole stanceswitching procs the extradamage a lot and the overallstats it provides support your effectiveness in long fights.

If u reach this point you WILL find the enemy AD carry farmed and just melting your hp while kiting you to death ... u can avoid this by building randuins omen ---> HoG used FINALLY !!! It gives u aoe slow ---> MORE TEAMFIGHT BEASTING
Slow on beeing hit ---> MORE ANTIKITE BEASTING
Armor and HP ---> LONGER BEASTING VS AD

If u havent won so far you should finally go for a BT it provides more LS and more DMG ---> MORE BACKDOOR BEASTING, MORE DMG WHILE BEASTING AND LONGER BEASTING ... DONT FORGET YOU ARE UDYR IT STACKS WITH YOUR Iron Mantle !!!

If u still lose/cannot win the game you reached the point at which u should BEAST YOUR ENEMY WITH AWESOME FLAME to distract them and win or BEAST DOWN YOUR OWN TEAM WITH A FLAMING-ORGY so they start to play better or finally mess the game so you can start a new one and BEAST IT ALL AGAIN !!!

As I mentioned before I like to jungle in some situations. You should only do this when the enemy have a jungler/leaver so they wont push top with 2 while you are stealing their red/blue.
As soon as you have wriggle's up, you can go to steal their buffs to outplay their jungle and to improve your lanedominance. Against most melee champs on top a udyr with red/blue is way stronger, because he will just harass harass harass with red+ Wilding Claw+ Blazing Stampede and just StanceDance in between.

I hope you can also be a beast with this build if u find any mistakes are any lack of information you would like to have contact me and i will update this guide. i guess for my first guide if done this pretty good and fast (only 45min to write this whole ****) but i dont think this is the "perfect way" to play Udyr top this is just my way... if you want to flame or rage just do it i dont care ... if u want to help me improving this guide comment or PN and i will improve this guide to make it even better.
