Ability Order
Living Vengeance (PASSIVE)
Varus Passive Ability
Introduction
Alright guys, over the last few days I have seen so many ridiculous builds for the brand new LoL champion, Varus, that I could not bare witness another terribad build for him. He is an ad champion to start off with. Two of his abilities scale with his AD at a very high rate. His Q starts off at his current AD and works its way past its current; thus the massive damage output if you start off with an AD item. I have seen some outrageous items on this guy already; from chalice to wit's end. These items are terrible for him.
Q is your best friend with Varus; early usage ensures that your opponent backs sooner than later (eliminating their feed on minions). This is the skill you want maxed out at the start and use for every team fight. It is also important to understand that this is a skill shot that will shoot through all your foes (each enemy hit loses damage). Personally mid-late game I use it as a finish option to kill those with ghost and flash.
What is nice about my build is that it makes the traditional AD carry which is easy to follow. Now a lot of people dont like starting with the Infinity Edge, which I think is crazy. The IE is one of the best starting items for all AD carries. Here is why; If you get a Phantom Dancer first your going to have a lot of unnecessary attack speed:
-
1.Varus' passive is attack speed on kill
2.The highest he will crit is 200 or so
3.His abilities do not benefit from attack speed
If you start off with an IE you will be critical striking for over 500 damage. What sounds better my friends?
1.More ability damage
2.More crit
3.Better chance to earn his passive from minions with higher damaging attacks
His Mastery is pretty straight forward. Since he is a ranged AD carry, he is rather squishy. This is why I go into the defensive tree with 9 talents rather then go into Mp5 like many do with Varus(many feel since he has high mana usage that they need to get the mp5, but at the end of the game it is useless and its all about the extra padding).
Now, I recommend using Armor Pen Marks and Quintessences becuase he does still do majority of his damage as basic attacks. The armor runes under Seals help with his squishyness; and glyphs with attack speed. Between the having a blade dancer, berserker's boots, and black cleaver will give you enough attack speed to own.
