The point is, with Will of the Ancients, you can do that, then keep fighting. Why run?

I don't agree with that. If you combo someone you will hit them directly with a stun from Event Horizon, rendering them unable to do something for, let's say, 2 sec. You burst down and there dead before they even can react. Before the other enemy in that lane can react you already bursted and have enough time to run away. Veigar doesn't take dmg when he bursts, he just hits and run.

Although I don't like spell vamp on Veigar, I see you want to use it early game to you can survive some minor harrasment (which is Veigar's biggest con, laning).

Can I suggest an extra point in Event Horizon @ lvl 10. Because people with lvl 2 boots will just walk away from your stun and Dark Matter will never even hit them.

The largest purpose of spell vamp is not only to counteract harassment, but also to be able to fight multiple opponents. Being able to take hits from someone like ashe and full comboing her will kill her and leave you at full hp, fully capable of fighting someone else immediately afterwards.

As for event horizon, I would say it would be best to level it up fast rather than dark matter, after recent play, as I rarely use dark matter outside of team fights anyway.

Anyway I do not think will of the anicents is a viable item to build. If you need it for laning, there are much better items for that such as Rod of Ages (which gives 30 more ap when the stacks are done, a huge amount of mana that can couple with archangel's and has a nice health boost with the catalyst passive). Rylais is also another option over this because gives good health and can slow enemies for a little escaping power.

WotA gives 80 ap; you would know this if you had ever actually used the item, and with the spell vamp, you don't need to run from a fight. You harass, take hits, and when you combo, you are back at full hp.

If you actually read it, he did say that it wasn't exactly the order you get everything in.
WOTA is a better item than ROA IMO because of the aura it provides your team.
Most teams in lower ELO matches won't have a support, so two high-powered AP champions happens a lot- AKA it is easy to see a Karthus and a Veiger on the same team. While Karthus' ult is nice, Veiger's is better IMO and he should take mid.
Shadow Palm is calling it a KS because he is joking around.... Of course it's not a real KS when you deal all the damage. I guess you didn't read the part where he mentioned that either.
Rylais is bad on Veigar. The idea is to leave them too dead to have the slow be of any use.
Build could use some expansion, but overall- wonderful guide!

The build is okay, There are a couple problems in my opinion wrong with it.
First of all, if there is already a karthus locked in, do not go with veigar because Karthus needs to go mid and with Karthus, the team stacks a lot of mr. Another problem I have is that your whole idea of veigar is that he kses? If you do most of the damage to the enemy (which you probably will with veigar) it is not a ks. Other than that items are solid. Maybe expand a little more a bit on laning if you are getting harassed. OKay build but needs more expansion on it

I am not showing item finishing order in this build (and I probably should have specified that) I am just throwing out the items in the way it shows up on my inventory.

BTW, Karthus says stay out of mid!!! xD

I understand that having will of the ancients makes it easier to stay in the lane, but my point being is that maximizing the damage and killing them with one burst is much better then being able to stay in the lane. but hey we all have different play styles right?
