Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Vladamir is a very fun champion. I usually play him as a regular, standard AP build. However some situations my require you to build as a tank. This guide is to show you how to build an almost-unkillable Vladamir tank. You won't do much damage in the late game, but you can almsot never die. As the enemy champions are beating on you, you can casually walk out of their range or from one base to the other without dying. That is how powerful a Vladamir tank is. It actually needs a small nerf, IMO.
The first item you get are un-upgraded boots and 3 health potions. Proceed to lane (in middle) until you have about 3200 gold, which should be around 12. Back and grab a Warmogs. After that, lane some more if possible, upgrade your boots to Merc Treads and pickup a Spirit Visage. At this point you are a certified tank. You can tower "dive" aka simply ignore the tower completely for a pretty good amount of time. This will enable you to score a few easy kills. Grab a Randuin's and continue to lead the teamfights.
Once you grab your Force of Nature you become almost invincible. Your team should win at this point. If they don't, it's still going to be extremely hard for you to die. Getting 20-3-XX in any game and losing is not uncommon simply because its almost impossible to die with your Pool and the amount of mitigation you have at this point. Grab a Guardian's Angel just to top it off and that will complete you build. I have been known to sell back the Spirit Visage and take one of each Elixer, to buff up on every stat, and then buy a Crystal Scepter instead in it's place. You should End up somewhere around 4700 HP like that (although it isn't about the raw amount of HP you have but rather, the mitigation your gaining such as magic resistance and armor).
A great upside to this build is that once you have your FON you will never have to go back to base, you can simple stand around and your regeneration is so good that you don't need to B for any reason.
Do me a favor before you downvote, try the build five times. Five. This will allow you to work the kinks out in your own play. If you try it five times and still don't like it, downvote me five times on seperate accounts. I am confident in this build and I've refined it for quite some time now. I am 100% confident that this build is better than most out there, since I have personally tried them all using the five-game rule described above, very systematically. I also encourage you to post the scores for each of your five games using this build in the comments below.
Lastly, I am considering doing an entire Vlad guide for a new build idea: I would like to start the early game as AP (Crystal Scepter, etc) and then slowly move into tank in the late game. This is because Vlad is not as strong in the late game with an AP build unless he has alot of momentum, it's much more viable to become a tank at this point. If you would like to see that guide, give me a shout.
Thanks and enjoy the build.
