Oke. If I may ask in the first: Why Mejai?
You have 15% from Runes, 15% from Boots and as I recall 9% from Masteries. So 39% on level 18, right? And about 9% less on levels 9-11, which the most important for Vlad. So... you already got cooldowns reduced to state they are necessary and Mejai isn't always a good solution because you won't have easy opponents all the time and yeah, it's possible to kill vlad, even with Lifesteal, Rabadon, Rylai. And Ya have only 5 items. Vlad without ~90-100 Armor and MR dies very quickly and if you're abusing Sanguine Pool, even faster, reduced cooldown won't help that much if at least 4 champions switch focus on you. Maybe add some MR item like
Okay, so here we go.
These are all valid points. Abyssal Scepter and Zhonya's Hourglass are my two favorite defensive items on Vlad, and I usually end up taking them late-game (replacing my Mejai's) if it goes that long. I use the Mejai's to open myself up to the possibility of snowballing mid-game using Vladimir's natural durability. The items I list here are my Core, and further items are something I plan on adding in the future, as the dust surrounding Vladimir begins to settle. But it is definitely important to build resists, particularly if the opposing team has a dominant damage type.
Will of the ancients aura is unique fyi. You stated that you and someone like swain could get each profit off eachothers aura
As far as I'm aware, the "Aura Giver" buff stacks with the "Receiving Aura" buff, essentially giving them doubled aura buff. This works with AotL, too.
(I think.)
Your experience is that CD runes > AP runes with Vlad?
The items are nearly perfect, I might add. This is about what Vlad should look like if you ask me.
I'm a guy who likes to "do more stuff". That aside, though, the AP runes (blues) will net you about 23 AP, the flat quints about 15. So around 40 AP. Reducing your cooldowns is effective because it increases your DPS by a %, which "amplifies" the effectiveness of an AP-Heavy build more than AP runes will, the same way more attack damage makes attack speed increasingly valuable.
The main reason you'd take AP runes is to get the bonus health from his passive, but that's a personal choice.

EDIT: You're gonna need something to give mana on a mana character, but I think that's a given.
No.
Best build ever... I have been using this on all my characters!
Yeah, it's a pretty good framework for AP characters who can use lifesteal.

What happend with the Hextech revolver, you are not going to make it in a better item?
Ah, right. It builds into WotA! That is, unless the enemy team is stacking healing reduction effects that make it ineffective. Then you'd sell it and make a defensive item instead.
Adding this in the next update (along with item rationale and add'l items).
