Most ppl look at a guide just for the items they have to use. Having a special item section would make that a lot easier for them! Overall the guide does look good.

Your answer in that section explains why you would need survivability. My question is why take this route? That's a 1325 expenditure that you don't expand into anything else... By the end of the game when you have sold both of the rings and the catalyst you have now lost 237+237+450 = 924 gold. A lot of people, not me though because I stack doran's all the time, frown upon losing just the 237 for the rings, but to add another 450 for an item that you just plan on selling... that just doesn't seem like a wise investment. Add on to of that, that at this point in the game you should be focusing on getting some damage, you just payed 1325 on an item that only supplies survivability, no damage increase, when you could wait for less than 300 more gold and buy a Needlessly Large Rod to put towards your deathcap which will greatly increase your damage output.

However, let's say we build the catalyst and later sell it:

That leaves you a 6th slot for situational buys. You never address this slot or explain in what situations you would purchase what items. Most of the people coming to these guides are not pros and don't really understand situational purchases. I think if you have a build that you intentionally leave open ended you should share some of the situations and choices that you would use to fill that space for those readers.

I wonder why you wouldn't consider purchasing a Heart of Gold for the HP and bonus gold/5. As you stated, you should be getting blue buff by the 7 minute mark or so, so the mana shouldn't be an issue which is why you shouldn't get a philo stone. At least in this scenario the Heart of Gold will pay for itself and then some by the time you sell it in order to make the situational late game purchase.

I have explained in Early Game section why you buy catalyst. I did also say sell it if need be after 25:00 :).

So umm... what is the catalyst for? Is it just kind of hanging out or do you use to build into something else?

Also telling people to flat out avoid champions is no good and doesn't promote growth as a player. You should at least tell them why those particular champions are difficult and what they should try to avoid when playing against those champions.

This guide needs some work, here are my suggestions: (A) Max Q by level 9 no matter what situation. The cool down on that needs to be as low as possible because every abiltity that Orianna has revolves around her ball, and you need to be able to move it as much as possible. The damage on it is pretty hefty as well. (B) Movement Speed Quints aren't necessary on Orianna she has a movement speed increase on her W if you really need a swift burst of speed. (C) You state this as one of Orianna's Cons: "Mana dependent", this is right, but you don't even bother to buy any FULLY BUILT mana items on her. You buy a catalyst, but never build it into a Rod of Ages making it practically useless outside of the laning phase. Secondly, if you play Orianna enough you realize that her mana is still hard to manage even with blue buff. I know some professional gamers that buy a Rod of Ages, Chalice of Harmony, and they have blue buff throughout the game due to how hard her mana is to control. I'm not saying you need to do all of that, but it should definitely be considered. (D) You need much more detail added to your guide that at least explain every part of the build (Masteries, Runes, Items, Skill Sequence). (E) I highly recommend that you head to the top of the page click on Guides & Strategy, then click on Getting Started Guide under Create a Guide. This will teach you proper ways to format your guide that could potentially result in world dominance (don't know until you try). Hope I helped! Have a tremendous day!

PS: If you would like to ask me any questions about my suggestions feel free to PM me. I will be happy to vote once my suggestions are considered.

Aw ok, no problem. I could write about that. In fact I will do that in a minute, thank you :).

Could use more BBcoding, otherwise not bad for a first build. You may want to go more in-depth about the laning against champions. Maybe more about items and situational items.

Looks fine to me, although you could add situational items. Add banners or something, just to make it more fancy. Other than that, good explanation.
