Lets say that you have 220 AD, adding 30 from TrinForce for a total of 250. And lets say your q adds an extra 150, for a total of 400 damage with your q. His q REPLACES your next aa, and TrinForce's Sheen pros adds an extra 200% of your aa damage to your next auto, making your q deal 3 times the amount of damage, for a total of 1200 damage before resistances.
Now lets say you have BT instead, having 300 AD and your q adding an extra 200 damage for a total of 500, less than half with than with TrinForce.
One may argue that the extra AD from BT would add more damage to your e and ult, but the e scaling is pretty meh, albeit if the ult has good scaling. With a full burst being:
E + AA + Hydra + Q + Ult + Ignite, TrinForce is dealing much, much more damage than BT, making TrinForce, imo, one of the most crucial items on Wu.
The only problem with it is that you need a good amount of extra AD before TrinForce becomes the most useful, making it around the 3rd - 4th item.
