Threats & Synergies
When I personally play against him I normaly crush him. This is because most of the [[Aatrox]] go AS+Lifesteal but not very tanky. And Wukong especially shines against squishy opponents.
You just cant kill him, but the good thing is that you should usually be able to farm very easily against him, so you can crush teamfights.
Cho' Gath is one hell of an annoying enemy. He sustains 24/7 and kinda counters your damage-focused nature.
This is one of the hardest, when not the hardest matchup for Wukong. You are really in a bad spot against him. Against Darius is always go an early vampiric and then Randuins/Sunfire and Gauntlets.
It's like you are playing against Alistar. No killpotential. Just farm.
Fiora is good against squishy champions who don't deal as much damage as her. You are the opposite. You can hang on to her damage while being tanky enough to outlast her. Yet, she can outplay you.
When he wants to poke you, you can just e to him and destroy him in 1 combo.
I actually played quite a lot against Garenand I can tell you, you CAN win, but only if the enemy Garen isn't maining Garen. You have to play it very smart and especially cautios.
You can kill him in his casual form and you can still fight him in his Mega form, so he's kinda at a lost point against you.
Gragas is one hell of an annoying champion, but you can win it by dodging his Barrel Roll and playing mindgames with your Decoy. But in an equal matchup he has the upper hand.
I LOVE picking Wukong into him. You can into his arena if you need to, and if you are smart, you can jump out of it. If he accidently cages 1 of his mates with him you can destroy them with your ultimate. In lane you outdamage him easily by avoiding his flag and drag.
Bully him as much as you can. Yet, you can outdamage him post level 6 when you stick to him.
When he wants to poke you with his combo - use your Decoy. It will block it. In a full engage you can kill him.
MANY people will pick Lee into you. That's because on every Counterwebsite stands that he is the hardest counter. I can tell you he is NOT. You can easily outplay him when he makes the tiniest mistake. You can punish him for using his q on a minion for example. + Lategame you will demolish him.
It's like Alistar just twice as annoying. That is because he actually deals quite some damage while being nearly as tanky.
It's a little bit more in your advantage, but if you don't react to his farming, you will get a problem.
He is very annoying for you, try to farm and when he wants to dive outplay him.
He will annoy the living shit out of you. Until a certain level, stay the fuck away from him. Otherwise you will definetly feed.
He is also one of those "Pseudo-Counters". Many people will pick him into you. You actually have quite a chance against him, if he doesn't know the matchup as good as you.
He can not do anything against you. The only thing he can do is roam and you wil lget a free tower. Otherwise you will get free feed.
She absolutely can not stand up to you early game. Use that to your advantage and bully her before she gets big. Don't even worry endgame you still are kinda qual to her.
When he comes to close - jump on him and kill him.
This is the most qual match you will get. It's all about skill.
You won't kill him until he's stupid. So: farm.
At 6, immediatly jump on him and kill him. He wont stand a chance.
Don't try to fight him, you have no chance. Call for a gank.
If he doesn't get to much crits early you can easily kill and from there on bully him.
Again, when he comes to close, jump him. He wont do any damage to you early game.
Your only chance is when his passive is down.
He can't deal with you, cause you are tankier and you have more damage sources.
This is the standart runepage setup for toplane, but u can also get Flat Armor Yellows if you want to be stronger early or if youre having a hard time jungling. For the cheesy Full Lethality build I also run a Runepage with 9 Lethality Marks and 3 Lethality Quints. It actually works out.
-He can snowball his entire team
-He can carry/turnaround a teamfight
-Huge juke/outplay potential ( Decoy)
-He's quite a strong duelist
-Hard early game
-Gets bullied hard by tanky high dmamage dealers like Renekton or Darius
Your early purchases should mainly focus on AD because you really need to get the snowball rolling otherwise you wont be that usefull to your team. After 1 or 2 Damage-Items (depending on the Teams) you should start getting a bit durability or youll just blow up in teamfights.
At level 2 I take Crushing Blow, so I can trade even better because now I have a gap-closer, a AS Buff and a AA Reset. Then I pickup that 1 point for Decoy. At this point u can already make nice play. I max Nimbus Strike just because the points scale better in it, than in Crushing Blow. I max Decoy last, because it only gets a little higher amount of damage and not so much CD-Reduction.
NOTE IF JUNGLE: Take Nimbus Strike first and Decoy second. Reason is that the distraction from Decoy is more usefull than a AA-Reset in the jungle. It is really important to stay healthy early.
My engage combo is Nimbus Strike >> AA >> Crushing Blow >> AA... >> Crushing Blow >> Cyclone.
You need to have in mind that Crushing Blow resets your AA-Timer and reduces the armor, so I first make my harass combo but then I keep fighting until my Crushing Blow is up again so I can reduce his armor to totally destroy him with my Cyclone.
Wukong makes the most damage with AA >> Crushing Blow >> Nimbus Strike so I take this combo when I'm sure I won't die ASAP.
Only use Decoy if you REALLY NEED TO because when Decoy isn't up the toplaner will probably call his jungler to gank you AFAP and then you got no chance to escape.
The "hidden power" of the Decoy is to simply press "S" when you feel like. The enemy will think you used Decoy but in fact u ust stand there. Use this technique if you dont wan't to waste Decoy, you got no mana or it's ust on CD. But please be adviced: this won't work when the "2 Eyes" are over your head or the is something else of true sight.
His passive Stone Skin is a pretty much underrated skill. It provides you some nice amount of defensive stats so even in the early game you are not that squishy. And woooow in endgame when 5 enemies surround you it gives 50 armor and MR. It's just strong if you ask me. It allows to fully engage into 5people without being afraid of dieing.
Ghost instead Flash is only OK if you prefere to play like this.
You can swap Teleport for Ignite if you really feel cocky and you think you can stomp on the enemy laner.
Jungle is Smite for Teleport obviously.
Especially Orianna can make HUGE plays with his Decoy and Cyclone. ust give him the ball while he gets invisible and he uses Nimbus Strike right in the enemies so Orianna can easily perform a destroying Command: Shockwave followed by Cyclone == Won Teamfight.
He also synergizes well with Jarvan IV, Galio, Amumu and actually everybody who has a strong AOE ult.
