Introduction

Hello all of the summoners out there. Be warned, this is my first guide.I've been a fan of MobaFire for a while, using it's builds and such but this is my first one.

Since there is no real Xerath build out there, and many of the summoners that I face against who use Xerath aren't fully maximizing their potential, i decided to make this guide.

So, here it goes...

Pros / Cons

Before one would even consider buying Xerath there are a few things the average summoner should know: the pros and cons.

Pro's:
Excellent Mid player
Can outrange any character on the map(besides Karthus' ulti)
great starting damage and farming capability in early game
Doesn't need to be in the middle of the fight to get kills

Con's:
Horrible close range game
hard to escape ganks
Squishy early

Runes

Basically, Use magic penetration runes and AP runes to maximize Xerath's potential early on. You can change the +AP runes per level to flat +AP runes to get early lane dominance.

Masteries

For masteries the basic 21/0/9 works for good exp plus spell damage.

Skill Sequence

Early game(level 1-7) start by using Mage Chains, Followed by Arcanoplus, and finish with Arcane Barrage.

Mid game (8-12) Start the battle by engaging locus of power followed quickly by Mage chains. After Mage Chains hits, use Arcanoplus, and Arcane Barrage.

Late Game(13-18) Same as mid game except now you CD reduction should let you run through your whole combo and finish with Arcanoplus after Arcane Barrage for the longrange kill.

Summoner Spells

I use Flash to escape ganks and pickup last kills, and clarity because early game and mid game Mana can be a problem.

Also it helps allies if your full and their excuse for not attacking is "OOM." Just cast your spell and say "BAM killem."

Summary

In summary, not my best guide, i will be editing him as seen fit, It's my first guide, but i hope to enlighten some of the xerath users out there.

Just remember to keep a good range in between you and your opponent's, always be ready to cast Mage Chains, and every now and then dont be afraid to purchase wards to be aware of ganks.
