Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Masteries
This is my first ever build and would like to say that I do enjoy playing this character very much.
EARLY GAME
The first thing I normally do is buy Boots of Speed with 3 Health Potions for max survivability. If I do happen to have a partner with an excellent disable then I will buy a Long Sword and Health Potions for the extra damage for an easier first blood.
Each game I generally will hide in mid's brush and help gank the enemy champion there so that our mid can have an early advantage and so that we get the first blood. The only times the enemy generally gets away is if they have ghost or flash. Make sure to farm as many creeps as you can with last hits and gank the enemy with your Three Talon Strike and Audacious Charge as often as you and your laning partner can handle. Getting early kills can be a deciding factor later in the game. Just be sure not to over extend and die to the turret as you don't generally have an escape mechanism besides flash. By the time the laning phase is over you should have a Zeal, Phage, and working on either Boots of Swiftness or a B.F. Sword.
MID GAME
This is where you should shine the most. I believe Xin to be one of the best mid game gankers due to the amazing bursting capability and CC you have at your disposal. This is also the part of the game where you must decide which direction you wish you go in terms of items. If you find you are dying or being bursted down too easily it is probably best to finish Frozen Hammer. If you are doing just fine but not doing enough damage farm up an Infinity's Edge. Just be sure that Phantom Dancers is first or second on your items to finish list. Just go around with the team and remember to take out the squishy characters BEFORE the tank. I can't tell you how many teams I have been on refuse to switch from the tank to the DPS just because the tank has 1/2 HP. Doing this will ensure your team battles are won and you leave with a kill or two.
LATE GAME
By this time the game should be moving in either you favor or your enemies favor. Generally I only get to finishing Infinity's Edge if it even lasts that long. If the game does last longer then that buy a Tiamat to kill the other team faster and a Blood Thirster to increase late game survivability as by the late late game people are finishing builds that are good against the other teams best and vise virsa.
If the game goes on much long then that swap out the Boots of Swiftness for another Phantom Dancers or some kind of high damage item. I have never had a game last this long but there is always the possibility.
TIPS
- Knowing when to and not to open with Audacious Charge can mean the difference between you killing someone and them getting away.
- The order of your attacks should be Audacious Charge (Optional), Crescent Sweep (if more then 1 opponent), Three Talon Strike, Battle Cry, Auto-Attack. Doing it in this order will ensure that you get the most out of your Battle Cry's cooldown reduction.
- If it is need you can jungle at about level 3 without too much trouble, this will help your team with the level advantage and potentially with your kill count.
Good luck and may you rape people with your almighty uberness.
P.S. Let me know how you like the build and what you would do differently. I have never done a guide of any sort before but I felt that I should put it up because it's a lot of fun. I'm not the best player in the world but I've gone 14/8/30 (the 8 deaths generally come from late game team fights because I get extremely focused)so I think that counts for something! All comments are welcome.
